"Hey, wake up."
"Mmm... what now?" I mumble in my sleep to a slight shake and a soft whisper to my ear."Wake up sis."

I slowly open my eyes to the view of my cute 22 year old brother. "Vin?"

"Morning sis." He greets me with the most precious smile on his face.
"It's morning already? I ask confused sitting up on my bed. "How did I...?"

"You and Mom were watching a movie last night. I got home late and you had fallen asleep, so I brought you to your bedroom." He explains walking over to my bedside table and grabbing a mug, handing it to me. "Here you go, coffee in bed."

"Nchooa you're so sweet." I slightly squeeze his cheek.
"Stop that, you know I hate it. I'm not a little kid anymore." He says frowning making me laugh a bit.
"Perfect way to start a morning, I love you kid." I take a sip from my hot coffee and it tastes so good.

"No school today?"
"Yeah I'm about to leave, it's almost 8 anyway."
"What?! 8?! No no no no Vin." I panic placing my coffee on the table, getting off my bed.

"What's wrong?"
"I work Vinad, that's what's wrong."
"What?" My little brother asks standing from the bed.

"I'm late kid, I have an 8 o'clock."
"An 8..."
"No time, see you later." I run to my bathroom, hearing my brother close the door behind him as he leaves.

It's already 8am, I'm done showering and have quickly changed. I take my things and run downstairs.

"Morning sweetheart, whooa slow down." Mom says seeing me run down the stairs.
"No time for breakfast mom, I'm late."
"Again Leeya?"
"Mom I'm sorry, I'll see you later."

"Stop right there Aleeya Kingsman." I pause by the door turning to look at my mom. She looks rather furious.
"Mom I'm really late, I..."
"Enough!" She shouts walking to me.

"Mom what's wrong?" That's Vinad walking over to us upon hearing mom shout.
"It's nothing kid, mom is just sad that I..."
"Sad? (Pauses and takes a deep breath) Aleeya when was the last time you had breakfast with your brother and I? When was the last time you sat down and had a proper meal and a proper conversation with us?"

"Mom..."
"QUIET I'M STILL TALKING!"
"Mom?"
"Don't interfere Vin. You've always defended your sister, not today. I've been living in this house like I have no children. Vin goes to medical school but he always makes time to have a proper meal with his family."

"Mom it's not that deep."
"Vinad! I said stay out of it. You started this business when you were very young Aleeya. I let you because you loved it. Had I known that because of this business you would grow apart from me, year after year. I wouldn't have let you. It's all you live for now. Company this, company that. I've always supported you with no complaints. I've always asked how you are but, when was the last time you asked me how I am?"

"Mom..." I whisper softly as tears well up in my eyes.

"This mansion is so empty without you. You leave while everyone is asleep and come back when everyone is already sleeping. I had thought that, I would get to spend some time with my children before they marry and leave. But Aleeya you... you left a long time ago. I feel like I've lost my daughter."

"Mom no!" I drop my things to the ground and run up to hug her. I let go and look at her. "Mom you haven't lost me, you'll never lose me. I just need to work to..."
"To forget your pain? Your past? Reality?"
"Mom..."

"Your dad died, leaving me to take care of you two. You've been taking care of us instead, but Aleeya... if you taking care of us means you get to grow distant, then I don't want you to take care of us."

"Mom my work is important, it's my life."
"Am I not? Am I not important to you? Am I not your life? Tell me Aleeya, am I not your mother? Don't you consider me your mother?"
"Mom how could you even say that? You and Vin are my life, I would give up everything for you two, even my work."
"Sister no..."

"It's okay Vin. If Mom feels that my work is coming between us, I'll let it go."
"But sis... mom don't do this."
"I don't want your sister to quit work Vin, I just want her to manage her time and spare some for us. Go Aleeya, go to work." Mom says then walks away.

"Mom..." I can't control tears as Vin hugs me tightly.
"It's okay sis, I'll talk to mom."
"Vin... do you also think I'm growing apart from you?"
"(Pauses for a second) Just... just go to work sis, I'll talk to mom." Vin says then also walks away following mom.

Could I really be growing apart from my family. I mean, it's true. I've been focusing on my company for the last seven years.

I barely remember when we all went out for a meal or just drinks. I think my past is clouding my present.

I cannot find peace, unless I let go of everything. I cannot let go of everything unless I get justice.

I take my things, get to my car and drive to work. I fix my make up and walk inside.
I'm already 30minutes late, but I had to listen to mom, I couldn't just leave.

"Morning Farah." I walk past my receptionist walking to my office.
"Good morning ma'am. Farah runs after me holding her diary and reading out. "Ms Dina is already here to discuss her wedding planning, she's waiting in your office."

"Farah I thought I told you not to let anyone into my office unless I'm here."
"Sorry ma'am but she insisted as you're already late."
"Excuse me? This is my company Farah."
"Yes sorry ma'am, um... also Mr Lincoln is dead."

"What?" I pause turning to look at Farah.
"Yes ma'am, he died last night. It's all over the news, apparently he met with an accident and his car caught fire. He died inside, at least now he won't ruin our events." Farah explains.

After a few seconds, I pull myself together then continue walking to my office.
"That's not a nice thing to say Farah. Any other meetings today?"
"Yes. The new supplier needs to know what you need for Ms Dina's wedding. I already listed three possible venues all we need now is the theme. Here you go." She hands me a file she drafted in.

"Okay um... get me a cup of coffee and bring Dina something to drink as well. A cappuccino I guess." I instruct Farah pausing by my office door.
"Yes, ma'am. Coming right up."
"Oh and Farah... great job." I compliment her work as she smiles, nods and walks away.

I take a deep breath then open the door to my office.
There's a blonde haired lady wearing a short sparkly bareback dress with nude heels. She's sat on my desk, going through one of my files.

I sigh then walk inside closing the door behind me.
"I suppose that's my file, and get your ass off my desk." I say walking over to my desk and placing my things on top.

She gets off my desk and looks at me with a smirk on her pretty little face.
