All I needed was to leave the bathroom and go back to my office, complete this meeting and go home.

Now I have to look at his penitent face and listen to his justifications.

"Alee..."
"What Zodiac?"
"Listen to me, I beg of you." He walks closer to me and lightly squeezes my arms.

"Alee I don't want to marry her."
"Did I ask?"
"I'm marrying her because I have to."
"Congratulations. Can I leave now?"

"Just like that?"
"I'm sorry, did you want me pop champagne in celebration of your wedding?"
"Aleeya!"
"Let go Zodiac!" I place my hands on his chest and push him so hard he almost trips.

"I am not doing this with you Zodiac."

"ALEEYA!" I try to walk past him but he grabs my arm and pins me against the wall. "I'M TRYING TO TALK TO YOU HERE!"
"There's no need to shout, especially to my face."

"I am trying... to talk to you Alee. Won't you just listen to me?" He lets go of my arm and speaks more calmly.

"Alee I meant every word I said to you back in that coffee shop. I'm marrying Dina because my mom thinks it's what's best for me. We're childhood friends and once we get married, both our families companies will benefit from it. I do not love Dina, nor do I want to marry her. Just give me a chance and I'll prove myself to you."

He said quiet a mouthful and he looks like he means every word but if he could lie at first, why wouldn't he lie going forward.

"You lied to me Zodiac." I utter in more angry whisper tone.

"I didn't lie to you Alee. Yes I may have not told you the entire truth about me. I may have not told you I'm engaged but I didn't lie to you."

"You dared to tell me you want to be with me then go to a wedding planning meeting with your fiancé, How uncouth can a person be?!"
"I had no choice! She literally forced me."
"Bullshit! Listen, I'm telling you now, I don't need you Ash. You're not a necessity to me, no man is." I push him away from me. "I have a wedding to plan, your wedding. Let me see if it happens."

"Alee you're equivocating, what are you saying?"
"You're a grown ass man, figure it out." I say then push him aside, walking out and walking back to my office.

"Ms Aleeya are you okay?" Farah asks meeting me halfway as I walk into my office.
"I'm okay Farah, let's continue." We both walk back to our seats but Dina stands before we could sit.

"Where's my husband Aleeya?" She asks with so much aggression.
"I left him in here with you. Has he left yet?"
"He went out a few minutes after you. Where could he have gone?"
"He's your husband Dina, don't you two speak?"

"What... what do you mean?"
"Oh nothing." I sit crossing my legs. "I just thought that since you're both engaged, he would let you know when he steps out."

"Of course he lets me know. Listen I've given you every detail you need, I'm leaving now."

She roughly grabs her handbag and walks towards the door.

Before she could open it, Ash opens it, walking in. "Husby, where have you been?"
"I um uh... Had to make an important phone call." He lies to Dina whilst staring into my eyes.
"Let it be, anyway the meeting is now over. Let's go." She grabs his arm and leaves with him.

As soon as they step out, I stand from my seat, take my glass and throw it against the wall. "YOU BASTARD!" I scream so loud causing Farah to jump a little.

"Ms Aleeya it's okay." She tries to calm me placing her hands on my shoulders.
"NOTHING IS OKAY FARAH!" I push her hands away and throw myself on my couch.

"How could I be so stupid? I almost, almost fell for him Farah. He's been so good to me, he checked up on me, on my mom. He supported me when I needed him. He lied to me Farah, he looked at me and lied to me. He told me he wanted to be with me."

I'm now breaking down over a man I barely know. Farah is holding my hand and softly rubbing my back.

"Ms Aleeya he..."
"He looked me in the eye and lied saying he was willing to leave everything for me. He fooled me. He's... he's..."

"He's a terrible person ma'am. He fooled us all. Ms Aleeya he doesn't deserve you, he should be ashamed of himself."
"No Farah... I'm the one who should be ashamed. After Teka, how could I fall for a man I..."

"You barely know? Ms Aleeya it took you three months to have boundless love for Teka, he took you for granted. It's not your fault that you have so much love to give."

"Is it my fault that when things go bad I'm always at the receiving end? Is it my fault that I'm always taken for granted? That I'm always lied to, used and cheated on? Is it my fault Farah?! Is it my fault?!"

My breakdown has even cause Farah to also shed a few tears. I'm laying my head on her shoulder, she's brushing my hair, sobbing.

"It has never been your fault, it's not your fault and it will never be your fault Ms Aleeya. You're a good person and anyone who takes you for granted will be the one to suffer. Tell you what sis."

She lifts my head and places her hands on my cheeks.

"Go home, go and take a long warm bath. Have your room lights turned off, watch your favorite movie, with your coffee in your hand. You know, add a little cinnamon." She has the sweetest smile on her face, making me smile as well.

She wipes my tears, helping me stand from the couch.
"You're right Farah, I need a warm bath, some coffee and I also need my mom."

"Right! So come on, I'll walk you to your car."
"Wait Farah, why would Ash come here knowing this is my company?"

Farah thinks hard about the thought that just crossed my mind.

"This is a huge building Ms Aleeya, it has different events companies, maybe he didn't know."

"Mmm." I smile and nod.

"Let's go." Farah packs my things then walks me to the parking lot, to my car. I wave to her, take a deep breath then drive off.
