Erin Lindsay was starving, she had just come from a mission and then her house had nothing to eat, she was also too lazy to go shopping now so had placed an order for a pizza, she was surprised at how quickly she had ordered just 15 minutes ago, they were fast. Well that's what she thought before opening the door to her house. It was only 8:12pm and she just wanted to be able to eat, throw herself on the couch and watch tv late into the night, what she didn't expect was that instead of the delivery guy there was her Jay Halstead p standing at her door, he sure as hell wasn't the delivery man.

...

33 hours before

He can't say that a bottle of whiskey made him make a decision, as it's not like he made one. He didn't drink much either, it was just a drink, he didn't want to ruin what little physical memory he had of her. He was actually thinking about certain things. And one of them was calling Hailey. He knew he wasn't going to accept her request. He loved her, but he knew that not loving her 100% would be a mistake if they got married. He would be honest with her. He would be man enough to tell the truth and share her feelings and then from that they would make a decision.

He leaves the box on the underside of the shelf next to the glass and decides to try to get some sleep. He needs that rest, especially if he's going to have an important conversation with his girlfriend.

22 hours before

Jay had already been awake for two hours. He was a little nervous. Being honest was for the best, but it didn't make him feel any better. She was her girlfriend and he loved her, he would let her decide the direction of their relationship, thinking about the future made him anxious. He tried to busy himself washing her clothes and he decided to have a quick dinner. Just a meat and a salad, maybe they should eat before joining the conversation. He needed to shop, but he would do it the next day, which would be Saturday, and he would still have a day off. He's got nothing to do, he's showered and now he's just waiting for Hailey. He's watching a show, maybe a teenage series, he doesn't know, he turned on the TV and switched to the channel, but his mind wandered and when he realized that the show didn't interest the bell he rang. He takes a deep breath, turns off the TV and walks to the door.

"Hi…" He says softly and opens the door wider allowing her to enter.

"Hi…" She has a strained smile on her face.

She doesn't know what's to come. They can be a happy couple, about to get married (she hopes that's it), but it could be him finding out what she did and breaking up with her or he could not accept the marriage proposal (she just hopes that if that's it, she be understanding not to let it affect their relationship. She tries to guess which way his facial expression is leaning, but she can't decipher it. His face is neutral, a little nervous, but she feels it too, so basically, she has to wait what he has to say.

She enters his apartment not knowing their situation, it makes her wonder how they should greet each other, which leads to a weird half hug and a totally weird kiss on the cheek. She stops in the middle of the room and Halstead joins her as she closes and locks the door. He notices that she hasn't taken off her blue jacket and helps her with that, counting and hanging it by the door. Silence settles in the room. They don't know what to say or what to do. Who should start talking? Yesterday they were in the same position and she was proposing. And now they are in an uncomfortable situation.
