3 years, 11 months and 6 days agoWhen her alarm clock began to beep next to her sending a loud ringing sensation through her ears, she reached over to turn it off, but her reach was too long, missing the clock and she fell off the edge of her bed, tumbling to her bedroom floor, silk sheets in tow. A loud grown escaped her lips as she propped herself up on her elbows and began to rub the back of her head that had hit the ground a little bit too hard for her liking,
Soon after, her bedroom door burst open, the blinding light forcing her to shut her eyes and shield away from the second obnoxious wake up call. "I thought someone was breaking in!" Her dad sighed walking over to her, his fear slowly dripping away, "you can't keep doing this Addie,"
"Why are you even mad at me? I fell out of bed, it's not like I'm sneaking a boy in here or something" she let out a breathy sigh taking her fathers hand as he pulled her up,
"You know I didn't mean it like that, I meant you need to stop scaring me" he took a seat on the bed next to her, "'n yeah as if I'd have to worry about a boy being in your room" she turned to look at him with a stunned look on her face,
"Excuse me, I could have a boy in here if I wanted" she crossed her arms with a fake pout on her lips, eyebrows scrunched.
"Yeah, but I know you don't want one, so I don't have to be worried, no ones good enough for my daughter on this island" they both laughed as her dad lifted an arm around her pulling her in tighter and placing a kiss on her forehead. "I was on my way up to your room anyway to come tell that I'd be gone for the day, I'm off out to do some business on the main land"
"Really? Again?" She sighed looking up into her fathers eyes, "I miss our daddy daughter time, you've been gone all week, can't mom go today, we had surfing planned" Addie pouted her bottom lip and tried the old trick of puppy dog eyes on her father,
"Ok fine, I'll ask your mother to go today seen as I don't want to blow up off again this week, but If I get a slap, I'm blaming it on you" she laughed watching as her father left her room leaving her to focus on her own thoughts. She smiled to herself before getting up and starting off her day just like she always did, firstly by opening her curtains, then making her bed, getting a shower, all the usual things, just like any ordinary day. Adelaide seemed to think that a productive morning always meant a productive day, she got that from her mom.
And lastly she would get changed right away or do her makeup like usual, but this time she was called down to eat breakfast after Julia had knocked on her door telling her, her mother would like to see her before she left. So with a towel wrapped round her wet hair, she followed the house keeper down to the kitchen, giggling with Julia over last nights antics.
"Thank you for covering for me when I came in late last night, they'd kill me if they found out I was at a Pogues party" Adelaide glanced at Julia genuinely thanking her for keeping her out of even more trouble,
"It's ok, now run along Dear, don't keep your mother waiting" The blue eyed girl smiled giving the old family friend beside her a kiss on the cheek before running off to the kitchen.
Adelaide's life seemed pretty simple, the simple Kook life and at that point it still was, but even before this, with her and her parents, there was a little more too it than that. Her mother was a Kook through and through, grew up in the posh neighbourhoods on this side of the island, but her father grew up in the 'slums' of Outer Banks with only a small hut to his families name, but that didn't stop him from chasing his dreams. So after working his ass off, he met Addie's mom whilst on a scholarship to the Kook academy, they instantly fell in love, they were high school sweethearts, being the first in history to soften the war between Kooks vs Pogues, bringing everyone a lot closer together.
But when they returned after college and university, with one of the biggest worldwide businesses, growing larger by the second, he was no longer a scholarship kid, her dad was one of the richest men, if not the richest on the island. And her mom was just as loaded and hard working, a serious power couple, ask anyone. Her father tried to cling onto his Pogue routes, but he couldn't do that without tarnishing his reputation, so with that, the one lifeline between Pogues and Kooks was cut and no longer existed meaning the war was back, and everyone -especially the Pogues- were a lot angrier than before.
So when Adelaide was born, she was immediately birthed into to label of the "Angel" of the island, worshipped by the Kooks and despised by the Pogues, but unlike her parents, labels didn't matter to her, she didn't really understand why they were so insistent on keeping them in the first place. And her opinion sooner grew stronger when she met Ki and Pope, who then introduced her to Jj and John B, they were just some Pogues at first, but they would later be the same Pogues who would become some of her best friends, her other family.
Adelaide was sat at her dining room table, munching down on her breakfast, laughing, joking and having an overall great time with her parents before saying bye to her mum,
"I'll see you later Darling, I love you" planting a kiss on her cheek before whispering in her ear "A.B.S" Adelaide pulled back a little shooting her mom a puzzled glance at the use of their secret code at a weird time."Bye mom, I love you!" She blew her a kiss as her mom left the room, waving behind her as she went. Adelaide repeated the letters (their code) 'A.B.S' in her head over and over again, mentally leaving a note to question her mom about it when she got home.
But little did she know that, that she'd never get to ask her mom, this is because later that night, her father revived a call informing the family that Mrs Bradshaw's car had been left unattended all day at the docks and there was nothing to say she'd bought a ticket for the ferry either. Adelaide went to bed that night hoping her mother would come home the next day, but also blaming herself, thinking that maybe if she would have just let her dad go, then everything would be have been ok.
And she was constantly told that, reminded of it, asked about it, any time someone had the chance to bring it up they did. Adelaide didn't like a lot of things, but pity and showing her emotions were two of her least favourite and that was all the 'accident' had brought her.
For days, even weeks on end, every night when her head hit the pillow the ocean began to leak from her eyes and the stormy seas would take over, the rain falling down her face causing puddles to gather on her rosy cheeks. The clouds blurring her vision and the thunder and lightening overcoming her brain with too many painful emotions for her to cope. Adelaide's year was rough to say the least, and her mothers disappearance and likely death was never going to get easier. But the older she got, the more walls she built, the stronger she became and now 3 years 11 months and 6 days to the date of her mothers 'accident', Adelaide would seem like the exact same girl they once new, except to everyone close to her, they new deep down that the girl stood in-front of them was no longer the Angel she was born to be,
Adelaide was now the devil in disguise.

I know it's a short one, but it's just a bit of an introduction into Adelaide as character and a quick summary of what she's been through. Of cause as the story goes on everything with be further explained and looked into.
It also gives a little look into how her and her fathers relationship was and also her relationship with her mum.
Is there anything in particular that you really want to see and before you ask for smut, don't worry your little socks off, it's coming, and there will be a lot, but it won't be all the time so if your coming just for that, you and your energy can go somewhere else <3
Enjoy, Lils xo
