Everyone was settling on the ship after a planetside trip. Yondu was going to gather Matais and Peter up for dinner but the younger of the two boys was already waiting outside the captain's quarters.
"Son, what are you doing?"
Matais looked over and beamed brightly with excitement, pulling out a little trinket, holding it out to him, "Here!! I stole it for you, Yondu!" he said happily, "No one even noticed I grabbed it! I saw it and knew you'd like it!! Aren't you proud of me?"
