Awake

Luke blinked open his eyes. The yellowish glow of the hospital light shinned down on him. He looked around the room. Flowers sat on the table next to him, shriveled and losing their color. The door opened and a girl stood there in shock.

"Luke!" She said excited.

He cocked his head to one side.

She ran over to him and hugged him tightly.

He pulled away and looked at her confused.

"I'm sorry did I hurt you? I'm so glad you're okay!" She smiled.

"Uh...thanks" he said "what happened?" He asked.

"You got in a car accident" she lost her smile.

He shook his head in understanding.

"Luke I'm so glad you're-"

"Who?" He asked.

She stopped "what?"

The door opened again. This time a man with a clipboard walked in "Mr.Hemmings! Glad you're up!" He smiled standing next to his hospital bed.

He stared.

"I'm just going to examen you to make sure everything's working fine" he said sitting his clipboard down on the chair.

"Okay I'll be back a little later, bye Luke" she said giving him a kiss on the forehead.

He blinked and tried to fight back a smile "okay bye" he said "oh wait!"

She turned around.

"What's your name?" He asked.

She laughed.

He stared.

She stopped laughing.

"and who's Luke?" He asked.

The doctor scribbled something down on his clipboard and told Jenna to go back to the waiting room.
