Authors Voice:

"There is something about survival. You keep striving, knowing it will either end in joy or in sorrow. Most times we are pessimistic, and sometimes we are optimistic, because we don't know what life could throw at us. Sometimes, things don't go as planned, to the point that we ask ourselves, Should I keep going or not?

It all started with the desire to leave home and get a good job, and most importantly, to avoid her mom's nagging and prove to her that she is better and to the world that she can survive if she keeps on following her principle.

Raised by a devout Christian mother, Gina couldn't make some choices while under her roof, and it suffocated her. When her best friend Nicki, a popular chain bar manager, offered her a deal on surrogacy, Gina thought that it's not possible, totally not what she wanted for herself.

Thinking about her not-even-close-to-perfect family, her elder sister is in a messed up marriage because of her greed; her younger sister Nora is into drugs and probably prostitution and wasting time and money in college; and her mother married twice to worthless men. She cannot imagine herself getting messed up like them. Her story has to be different.

However, on second thought, she had to accept the surrogacy deal. Life is already the way it is.

But, for the life of her, in all her imaginations on what the whole surrogacy could look like, she never imagined it would turn out the way it did.

"For goodness sake, Gina, all you have to do is get that shit inside you, get pregnant, give him the baby, and get paid millions! Billions! What's wrong with you?!" Nicki had said.

Well, dealing with a man like Seth and his goddamn rules was suffocating, but did she break that rocky man?

She definitely did.

For Seth, since he lost his parents, his goal has been on one thing. Make it to the top.Growing up with this in mind turned him into a rocky 'gentleman' who commands. He believes that once you have the money, you can do anything and control anyone. Just like someone he adored most, his grandmother. Although she disappointed him when she willed her inheritance to her great grandchildren, forcing him to get involved with what he hates the most. Women.

When he met Gina, to him, she proved that women are nothing but weak and stupid, and Gina is just one of the most stupid. But this didn't last very long. When it comes to her, his mind is always blank; she makes him vulnerable and weird; he barely recognises himself in front of her. And he hated that effect, so he guarded.

He just wanted to get the inheritance and end the contract, and she'll leave to wherever she came from. He needs himself back. He couldn't possibly be in love with a girl like her.But its funny how selfless and vulnerable love makes one.

When the contract was over, mighty Seth was in love; he couldn't imagine Gina in someone else's arms. What should he do—break his ego and make her his, or just let it pass?

His definitely couldn't help it.

When in chaos, we always end up choosing the already existing solution look alike, no matter how uncomfortable it might be. We choose it, then we take our time to figure things out.

When Seth, consumed with love, made love to Gina, she got scared and ran home. Why, you might ask, it's what she wanted.

Being with a man like Seth is not only dangerous, but Gina finds it hard to figure him out. She had a lot of reasons. She was kidnapped several times, and on the blink of death, because of the dang inheritance she sold her baby for, Seth couldn't possibly love her; his actions towards her throughout the surrogacy period were both hot and cold, and she is just Gina. He sees her no more than a tool he could discard any moment, so why stay.

However, Gina received the shock of her life when she found out that she was pregnant for Seth. She was in chaos; she felt her life crumbling; her mother would never take it. She was left with a few choices: leave somewhere far from her family and raise the baby or marry the handsome single father next door.

Although Seth wasn't in that choice, she couldn't stop thinking of him—she was in love.

It's obvious to her that Seth will never, not in this life, come for her, but then he came knocking.

He definitely couldn't imagine Gina in some man's arm—especially not the neighbour guy, he saw the way he looked at her—Gina is his. And they married.
What Gina didn't know, or perhaps she knew, was what she got herself into by marrying the annoying and arrogant Seth.  Trying to get comfortable with him, make him understand that she's his and no one else's, and dealing with his family are but a few of the many things she will deal with.

Many hunger for marriage, but can you deal with what comes with it? Spending the rest of your life with someone needs you to brace yourself.

Was Gina ready to face this marriage?
