Chapter Nine

Gina was on call with her sisters as she packed the gifts she got for the kids including Tyler.
Nora had gone home the day before cause she said she will leave early cause of her job. Stephanie would be going same day as her.
She ended the call and helped Seth pack some clothes.

"How many days are we staying?", Seth asked,
"The children will start school second week to cover up for the classes they missed and the fashion show will be on first week of February...hmm..so one week will do",
"Are you sure your mom's cool with me coming over?", he asked and Gina went and hugged him,
"Of course, my sisters are coming with their man too and my mum would love it if you're there. She loves a full house", she smiled and went back to packing the box.
"Fine", he said, wishing there's a way he can dodge going there.
He went and pecked her, "I'll just sign some papers and I'll be back",
"Deal with everything today. I won't have you making calls or being distracted once we get there", she said, her face begging,
"Yea, sure", he said and she smiled.
"Okay", she said and he turned to leave.
"What about Liam? I've not seen him around", she said and he turned,
"I don't know what he's been up to lately", he said and she nodded and he left.

The television was loud in the background. She stood before the mirror, watching the TV through it. Her hoodie hanging by the edge of the broken mirror.
She saw Seth shaking hands with some white haired men. She squeezed  the comb she was holding till it broke.

The door opened and someone walked in.
"Can I go now?", She asked,
"Not yet", the old man said,
"When?", she said almost growling, "when?!", she threw the broken comb on the floor and stood up.
"Until when am I going to be locked up here?",
"Calm down, you were once popular and in no time someone will recognise you. This is for your sake, you need to let me handle this!",
"For my sake? No this is also for your sake! Its all for the money", she said to his face,
"Listen..", he tried to make her reason,
"No, I appreciate your help so far, even though you weren't there when I needed it the most. I am going to pay you back for it. From now on am going to do things the way I want and don't ever try to stop me again", she pushed through him and left the room.
"Patricia", he called but its too late.

Gina got down from the car and saw the kids playing in the snow. Marcel saw her first. He screamed and ran towards her but fell face down on the snow. She went to him and picked him up and threw him in the air. Joe walked to her and hugged her. Tyler just smiled at her and it warmed her soul. She smiled back and touched his cheeks.

Marcel almost jumped down when he saw Seth. He ran into his dad's arms.

"How are you doing?", Gina asked Tyler,
"Good", he answered with a smile,
"You've grown so much", she said and he just smiled,
"What about Trey?",
"Shopping",
"Ohh...its so cold", she said as they all went in.
"We'll get that later", she told Joe and he closed the car and followed.

The house is warm, Nora and Stephanie was in the kitchen with two men and their mum, they were laughing at something.
"Oh...look who's here", Stephanie said,
She went and hugged them and greeted her mum.

They all went quiet when they saw Seth. Gina didn't tell them he'll be coming with her just incase he changes his mind.
She knew Seth would start feeling weird and regret coming, she went beside him,
"Surprise!",
"Ah...are my seeing right?", Stephanie said looking at Nora, Gina gave her the eye,
"Wwow..its going to be a one wonderful Christmas", she said clapping her hands.
"Is this not the famous McGregor?", one of the men standing beside Nora asked in amazement,
Gina tugged Seth's hand forward, a sign to greet her mum,
"Good day ma",
"Hm..it's wonderful to see you, its going to be a full house, shoulda known, would've filled the fridge with groceries. I better start making dinner, y'all must be hungry", she said standing up. Gina went to her and held her hand,
"You should just rest, we have three grown women and brave men here",
"Yea ma", Nora said,
"Y'all must been tired from the long travel. Get your rooms done and settle down",
"Maa",
"What..you think am old? I'll get things running, so pack your things and come down. By the way I have little helps", she said signaling for the kids and took her hand from Gina and walked into the kitchen with Joe, Marcel and Tyler.
"What should we make today?",
"Cookies!", Marcel shouted,
"You had cookies in the morning and in the afternoon", Joe said to him,
"More cookies!",
"Maybe a chicken pie would be better", Geraldine suggested.
They continued as Gina and the rest went to the leaving room.
"So this is...", Gina said looking at Stephanie and the young man beside her,
"Oh..this is Jerry, my boy friend",
"Hii", Gina said hugging him, she gave Stephanie a weird look,
"And this is my sister Gina and her husband Seth",
"Nice to meet you", he said shaking Seth's hand,
"Yea", Seth said.
"You're Seth McGregor am I right? Like that McGregor?", Nora's Fiance said also shaking Seth's hand,
"Yea",
"Am Juan, nice to meet you", he said amazed.
"Nice to meet you Juan", Gina said hugging him.
