Chapter 40

Jessica's POV

Today was the day me and Hayes were going to the boardwalk. I was feeling shattered,lost,looking for a safe place.

Hopefully things will get better.  Huh who am I kidding things are only gonna get worse.

Me and Hayes were already on our way.

"This is gonna be good for you" Hayes said after hearing my negative thoughts.

"Hayes, and what if it isn't? everything has been going wrong lately" I said sighing.

"Stop being negative,Jessica or I will embarrass you" he jokingly threatened.

At least,I hope it was a joke.

"Ok,ok I'll stop" I said focusing on thee road.

As I drove the song 2 On by Tinashe came on the radio. I started singing along with Hayes.

"I'd love to get 2 on,let's,let's roll" I sang,groovin'.

"Hey you sing good,Jessica you should get in the music business" he said dancing.

"I'll think about it" I said laughing at Hayes's dance moves.

When I stopped at a red light,Hayes started twerking to Turn Down For What by Dj Snake and Lil Jon. I started cracking up when an old lady spotted Hayes twerking.

"Hayes,stop,stop" I exclaimed,crying because I had laughed so much.

We passed this guy and he gave Hayes a dirty look. Hayes opened the window and flipped him off.

"Suck my ass" Hayes yelled twerking again,this time to Booty by Iggy Azalea and pointing to his butt.

I started laughing so hard again.

"Hayes I'm gonna pee myself if you keep making me laugh" I said biting my lip so I wouldn't laugh.

"Then do it cause I'm not gonna stop" he said smiling.

"Jesus-" I said sighing in defeat.

"Is in the sky" Hayes said finishing my sentence.

"Yup" I replied.

We got to the boardwalk after multiple times Hayes twerked or flipped someone off who was giving him dirty looks.

I even made a vine while the Turn Down For What song was on. Me and Hayes captioned it "Jammin': Twerk "Fest with Hayes and jjay" I actually twerked once and Hayes recorded it. I had tackled him to delete it but damn he was tall.

I got off the car and paid for our tickets. I was about to get on a ride when Hayes pulled me back.

"Wait" he said.

"What is it Hayes?" I asked confused.

"I need to talk to you please,just five minutes" Nathan's voice answered.

I turned around to see both boys looking at me expectantly.
Hayes set me up. Hayes had set us up.

"Hayes set me up,please" he said begging me.

Since I had no choice I reluctantly took Nathan to place that was quiet.

"What do you want?" I asked coldly.

"I want to talk to you" he said looking sad.

"About?" I questioned,raising my brows.

"Us" he plainly replied.

"There's no us" I replied looking away. I know I was hurting him but he hurt me more.

"There will be no us if we don't talk even, if we just want to be friends" he said straining his voice.

"I don't want to talk about anything,not with you" I said looking down.

"Look I know I messed up but I'm sorry" he said.

"That's the problem,you always fuck up and you expect me to forgive you, I'm tired of it. And you're never there when I need you. You just push me away. When all I wanna do is be there for you. It's like I care so much about you and you don't care about me. You take things for granted,the difference is,I'm not a thing. If you're wondering if I'm mad I'm not I'm hurt, there's a difference. I just I'm giving up on us,there's nothing worth fighting for. At least not anymore." I said being strong.

"Jessica, just one last time please" he said touching my shoulder.

"Nathan I don't know if I can try one last time" I said immediately regretting my words.

"Please Jessica I love you, you're the girl I want to be with" he said crying.

"You have Shannon" I clarified.

"Yeah but she isn't you" he said letting tears fall.

"So you still have her" I said feeling bad now.

"No, I don't I broke up with her because I know what she said in the bathroom to you,yes I slept with her,but it never meant anything to me" he said covering his face.

"You don't love me"  I said looking away.

"Jessica I do love you,I want to see you in my future,I want you to be the mother of my kids,I want us to grow old together" he said crying really hard now.

"I don't wanna lose you,because I don't know what I would do without you" he added.

"Nathan I don't know" I said so close to crying,so I closed my eyes.

"I just want you to consider it at least" he said wiping tears away.

"I will" I said opening my eyes.

"When you're ready tell me" he said walking away.

What am I supposed to do now?
