Four hours later after going home and showering and changing into a blue cami tank, a black cardigan and a pair of capris, I apparate to Harry's flat. A few seconds after I knock Harry opens the door. He looks me up and down and a blush appears on his cheeks. He steps aside and I step in.
"The kettle just boiled." He says and gestures to his living room.
"Make yourself at home."
"Harry, I've been here before." I was hoping finding out who I really am wouldn't change anything but he seems nervous. Like this is the first time we have been alone together after work.
"Right, right of course. I'll just go get the tea." He scurries off to the kitchen and I take a seat on the sofa. When he returns he has two mugs of tea. Handing me one he takes a seat next to me.
"So." We both day at the same time.
"You first." I nod and take a sip of my tea. Letting the calming effects of the chamomile with a hint of honey, warm me and calm my nerves.
"You probably have a lot of questions." I say before taking another sip.
"A lot is an understatement." I sigh.
"First I want to apologize. I should have told you, I wanted to tell you."
"I don't care about that, at least that can wait till later. I just." He sighs and runs a hand through his hair, making it messier than what it is.
"Your Snape's Daughter."
"I think we've established that."
"It's just." I know what he wants to know.
"My Mum was Mariam Killgrave. She was a Nurse in the Hospital Wing at Hogwarts when Dad first started teaching Potions. They became friendly. Mum saw something in him no one else did. He found comfort in that, I think. Harry my Dad he." I pause and sigh. He told me about what happened the night when my Dad was killed.
"He loved your Mum so much. So so much." He nods and takes a long gulp of his tea.
"Me being born doesn't change that. You want to know what my middle name is?" I pause.
"Lily." His green eyes snap to meet mine.
"It was a one night thing. Between my Parents. One night of pure loneliness, two months before your Parents died. It didn't mean anything between them. They both were just so lonely. So desperate to feel anything then what they were feeling. They took solace in each other for one night and I was the result."
"Did they regret it?"
"No. Mum always wanted kids and Dad all though he never saw himself as the parenting type was a great Dad. He." And here comes the tears. Harry reaches over and takes my hand in his.
"He put on this I don't care act but he cared, he cared a lot. About Lily, me, my Mum. You." Harry snickers.
"He did Harry. You were Lily's Son, you just reminded him too much of James. But make no mistake, he cared for you. He did everything he could to protect you. Especially in his last years."
"How did he keep you a secret from Voldemort?"
"As you found out Dad was very good at secrets. Dumbledore was the only one that knew."
"Of course." We both chuckle.
"So you went to Hogwarts?" I nod and my hair changes from black to blonde and my eyes turn blue.
"Katherine O'Mara." I say in an Irish accent.
"You were in Ravenclaw. I remember you from Dumbledore's Army." Harry runs his hand over his face and through his hair. I changed back into my normal appearance.
"I joined because I wanted to fight. Dad was teaching me how to defend myself against Dark Magic but he was holding out."
"I bet he was furious."
"Yeah but he knew I was in good hands and that I could take care of myself." There is a few moments of silence then he asks,
"Your Mum. What happened to her?"
"Harris was obsessed with my Mum ever since their Hogwarts days. He worked at Hogwarts as a groundskeeper. Turns out he was also a spy for Voldemort. Anyway one night he snapped. He saw my Mum on a date in Hogsmeade. He was waiting for her when she returned to the Castle. The killing curse, so it was quick, she didn't feel anything." Harry wraps his arm around my shoulders and pulls me against his side, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
"Until age eleven I lived with my Mum's parents. Spent Summer and Holidays with Dad. When I started Hogwarts that's when I was with Dad full time."
"I'm sorry." I nod into Harry's chest and pull away. Sitting my half empty mug on the coffee table.
"I'm sorry he was so hard on you. I told him all the time, especially after the Occlumency training sessions. Merlin we fought a lot over that. He even went as far as saying I had a crush on you."
"Did you?" Now it's my turn to blush.
"Maybe." He tucks my hair behind my ears.
"You were the chosen one so every girl that wasn't a Slytherin kind of did."
"I didn't want to be the chosen one." I nod.
"I know. Thank you Harry."
