Chapter 31 - Baby Fuentes

[Mike's POV]

We all waited in the waiting room for any news on Jackie and the baby.

Both my parents and Jackie's came as soon as they could and waited with us.

"What's taking them so long?? My sister's gonna be okay, right, Mike??" Dany asked, looking up at me.

"He'll be alright, dude, dont worry," i said, ruffling his hair, Jackie's mom hugging him close to her.

But he's right. What's taking so long??!

Soon, and at last, we see Vic walk in, wearing scrubs, a pack of ice on his hand, which was all bandaged up, too.

"OH MY GOD!!! ITS A WALKING MINI CUCUMBER!!!!!!" Jaime shouted, probably trying to get people out of their worry zone. It sort of worked with most of the people, including little Kenadee, to laugh.

Some even took pics.

Vic glares at Jaime and punches his arm with his good hand as soon as he approached us.

"How's Jackie??" Jackie's mom asked.

"How's the baby??" Skylar asked.

"What happened to your hand??" Austin asked.

"What are you wearing??" Danny asked.

"Jackie is fine, so is the baby, Jackie gripping to my hand, and im wearing scrubs," Vic said, pointing from Jackie's mom to Skylar to Austin to Danny in order, answering their questions.

"Can we see them??" Tony asked.

"Yeah, but not so much. my band and the grandparents, lets see. I'll come back for you guys later on," Vic said.

Everyone smiled as we all followed Vic to Jackie's room. I walked along side him as he held on to the bag of ice on his hand.

"Damn, Jackie did this?" i said, looking at it.

"Yeah," he said.

"Wow, what a grip," i said.

Soon we arrive and enter the room. Jackie was lying in bed, sitting up, a little pink bundle in her arms.

"Hey," she said, sounding a bit tired.

We all enter and stand by her bed.

"Everyone, meet our new daughter," Vic said, standing next to Jackie.

"She's beautiful," Tony said, holding Skylar close to him.

"Whats her name??" I asked, in awe as i saw my neice.

"We decided to call her Avalon," Vic said.

"Nice name," Danny said, standing next to his sister.

[Jackie's POV]

Avalon Cora Fuentes. 

She was precious. Me and Vic thought of a boy, but having a girl made us feel even more than happy, more than proud.

"Can i hold her??" my mom asked.

I hand Avalon in my mom's hands. My dad and mom stare in awe at their new granddaughter, Danny taking a peek at his little neice.

After a while, they passed Avalon over to Vic's parents, who admired her. I hold Vic's good hand and watch as Danny held her for a while, greeting her, and then passing her to Mike.

"Hey you. Welcome to the world," he said, rubbing her cheek softly with his finger. Avalon grabs his finger and starts teething on it. "No that aint a snack," he said, getting his finger out of her grasp. She gurgles a laugh and smiles up at her uncle. We all laugh as Mike passes Avalon to Skylar.

"Hey there. I'm Skylar, and this is Tony. Ever need to talk, we're here for you," she said, cradling her, Tony admiring next to her.

"Dang, i hope she isnt as short as her dad when she grows up," Tony mocked, making Skylar elbow him and all of us laugh. Avalon tugs at Skylar's hair curiously as Vic flips Tony off. Skylar then handing her to Jaime.

"Hey there, Baby Fuentes. Welcome to the Pierce the Veil family. I'm your uncle Jaime. Ever need a laugh, im your guy," he said, making a weird face.

Avalon just starts crying a little as she saw Jaime's face. We all start laughing.

"Real smooth, dude," Danny said, having my dad smack the back of his head to keep shut.

Vic just takes his daugther and cradles her to his chest. She immediatly stopped crying.

"She's as rude as her dad," Jaime muttered and sat down at a chair near me, pouting. We were all laughing our asses off.

"Well, when are you suppose to make weird faces to newborn kids??" Skylar said.

He was about to say something, but then Jaime just kept shut.

"Aw Jaime dont feel bad. Come here," i said giving him a hug. He feels better and hugs me back.

"Let's go get the others so they can see Avalon," Tony said, wrapping his arm around Skylar's waist.

Everyone saids goodbye for now, leaving me, Vic, and Avalon in the room by ourselves while we wait for the others.

"I'm so happy, Jackie. I have a daughter," he saids, sitting at the edge of the bed, cradling Avalon in his arms. She gave a toothless smile up to her daddy.

"She has your eyes," i said, hugging his arms as we admired her.

"But she looks like you," he saids, looking at me.

I smile and press my lips against him. He then hands her to me and then grabs his phone, snapping a picture of the three of us. Avalon looked curiously at the camera. Vic then posts the picture on twitter.

@piercethevic: Say hello to our little precious angel, Avalon.

"Now we gotta get married," he said, looking at me. Avalon played with the sleeve of my hospital gown.

"I cant wait," i said, as he presses his lips against mine.

"Oh, i never got to ask. How was the tour??" i asked.

"It was good. But its gonna be great when i bring you and Avalon next tour," he said, smiling down at me and Avalon. We smile back.

I dont think i can be anymore happier than now.
