[Jackie’s POV]

“Jackie!!” I hear Vic call for me from the falling rain.

I smile and run outside from my house to the parked car out front and throw my arms around my amazing boyfriend as he presses his lips against mine, the rain soaking us.

A very romantic scene.

“Vic, what are you doing here??” I asked.

“Came to see my beautiful girl, and to see if she wanted to go out for a ride,” he said as he held his arms around me. I shivered in the cold rain as I kept my arms around him. He then takes off his jacket and wraps it around me. God, he’s such a gentleman.

A ride?? Well, my parents wont be home from the dinner party until after 11 pm. I had the house to myself and my little brother was sleeping over a friend’s house. It was 8 pm, so I could go enjoy time with Vic as long as I wanted.

“Let’s go,” I said and we climbed into the car, which was a bit used but “works like a charm” like Vic said.

We drove until we came to the first stop light. Vic then leans over and kisses my cheek.

Vic and I have been together for 3 years. We were friends since 7th grade and started dating in high school. Its our 3rd anniversary and we’re happy we made it to senior year together.

“3 years together. Happy, babe??” he asked me as he looped his arm around me.

“Absolutely. You’re the best guy any girl can ever have. I’m really lucky and happy to be with you,” I said as I kiss him. The rain started coming down hard now.

Not even my parents can keep me from Vic. They don’t approve of him, and his parents don’t approve of me. Something of our dads having some old high school rivalry back then. But Vic’s perfect to me, and he loves me like I love him.

Vic is also happy since he finally got his brother, and some other guys to form a band. He’s thinking of calling it Pierce the Veil. Vic sings amazingly.

The lights turns green and we drive slowly through the pouring rain. Before I can even blink, some cars in the other lane were being thrown aside by an out-of-control car, and it was speeding at us.

“VIC!!” I shout and take his hand. But it was too late.

The last thing I remember hearing is the tire screech and the deafening, crunching sound of glass and metal.

After that, the silence was loud and everything remained dark around me.
