During the return journey, all the 3 were immersed in their thoughts. All thoughts of the trip were forgotten. Virat was in no mood to talk, while Sai was worried for him but also anxious so that everything should be solved. Samrat was as cool as an eel, but he was waiting to finish the unfinished business at CN and return to Goa. All were tensed.

The trio returned to CN at around 4 PM. (Its a Sunday, so no chance of missing duty or classes.) Sai suggested that Samrat should wait outside so that they could give a surprise to the family. Samrat agreed and Sai and Virat went inside.

Before their arrival, as usual, there was a huge drama going on in the house. It was the previous day of Samrakhi's wedding anniversary and Mansi and Pakhi had gone to the temple. Though she hadn't said anything, Pakhi was still jealous of Sai. She still had no feelings for Samrat but she was being a little kind to Mansi. When they returned, Kaku began a drama about Sai and Virat's trip. Karishma and Sonali too supported her in this. Ninad, Ashwini and Shivani were somehow trying to keep peace in the house, when Sairat stepped into the house.

K: Mast ha mast! Look at this king and queen! While here we are concerned about Samrat's absence, these 2 are happily coming back from their trip. Arre, tomorrow is the wedding anniversary of Samrat and Pakhi, so you 2 should have come back early na? I am sure this Wild Cat asked you to extend the trip Virat!! Am I right?
V: No kaku, these tickets were prebooked. And please don't blame Sai in this. I convinced her to come with me.
S: Don't worry Kaku. Today I know you won't be angry with us. We have brought many gifts for everyone with us. And, specially for Mansi bua and Pakhi didi, there is a very special gift just waiting for you outside!
K: Wow!! *Sarcastically* Looks like both husband and wife have made a conspiracy so that we can't get angry on them! Do you think we are little kids, that we will be happy with your kiddie gifts of chocolate and balloons and candy floss. Under your one thing, you insolent girl, whatever great thing you do, I'll never be impressed by you!! If you try to force me more, I'll personally stuff your head in a wood chipper! 😡
S: Kaku, let's all discuss this later na! But first, all of you come out first, then we shall see about the wood chipper!

(A wood chipper is a kind of machine which chops wood into tiny pieces!)

Saying so, Sai and Virat go towards the door and open it. The family come behind them and are shocked to see Samrat standing there!! He looks on emotionless, while Mansi cries with joy and runs to hug him. Mother and son have a reunion though Samrat is trying his best to control his tears. Kaku moves through a mixture of emotions before finally going forward to welcome him. Everyone crowd around them asking where he was, how he is and why he left them etc.

Ashwini (A) (with tears of happiness): Arre first let him come inside first. Then you can grill him with details.

As they slowly come inside, Samrat happens to glance at Patralekha. She looks absolutely stunned as she had almost given up hope. She has a slight relief in her heart, but he has nothing else but detachment. Both remember their wedding night, and remember that tomorrow is their anniversary! Samrat royally ignores her like she is nothing more than a potted plant and walks into the hall with the family, while Pakhi, unable to do anything, simply follows him inside.

K: Samrat, where were you all these days?? How could you just leave us all and go off? How could you leave your mother, your wife and your family and just go off on the very next day of your marriage? Say something!!
Sa: You guys haven't changed at all. Instead of asking how I am, you are more interested in where I was!! 🙄
A: Don't misunderstand us son. We are all worried about you! Also, how did you get all these wounds? Are you ok now?
Sa: I had been living a very good life, aunt, but then these 2 *pointing at Sairat* entered my life yesterday and everything turned upside down!
K (angrily): What did these 2 do now? I am sure this jungli mulgi must have done something to trouble you! You 2 haven't met before na! This girl is a menace! She is a total opposite of my favorite daughter in law, Patralekha! She doesn't obey anyone, talks back to everyone and is the most arrogant person I have ever met! 😑
Sa: I can agree with you Kaku, that she is totally opposite to your "favorite daughter in law"! But because of her only, I am standing before you, hale and hearty. If she wouldn't be there I would have suffered a lot of injuries! During their trip they came to a church where even I was there. That church crashed due to some tremors and I was wounded. She was the one who took care of me and got me shifted to a hospital for treatment.
K (stammers): Ah...ha..ha.. So what? That work any stupid person can also do. No big deal in that 😒! You tell us Samrat, where were you for 1 year? What happened that you had to leave so quick? Do you know how much Patralekha has waited for you?? This flower like girl had no one to look after her! Even her best friend, Virat, had no time for her, since mostly he spent it with his 😒wife😒 and his work!
Sa: Oho, I was under the impression that she would be very happy that I am gone. She would get to spend more time with her "friend" right? So what happened suddenly? 🙄
K, N, O: What idiotic question are you asking?
K: She had missed you and waited for a full year for you! What nonsense are you talking?!
