25. A Broken Heart

"Why did you leave me?"

That girl didn't answer my question, She just silence and then disappeared.

"Come back... please come back to me... don't go..."

All I could do was cry, watch that girl disappear from my sight

"It's all my fault, if only I hadn't left her... if only I had stayed by her side..."

The blinding summer sunlight burst into Kai's room through the crack in the window curtain that's a little open. Woke Kai up, he held onto his tightness chest. A feeling he could not understand. A pain that hurts so much, like a broken heart. He felt so tormented every time he dreamed of it.

A dream that keep haunting him, kept opening a wounds that could never heal in his heart. Kai blames himself for what happened a long time ago. And until now he couldn't forgive himself. Made him feel unworthy to be happy and decided to close his heart.

"Kai-ah, are you awake? I'm going to the bookstore soon, would you like to come?" Kai's grandpa's voice was heard from behind the door. His room.

"No, I'm not going anywhere." Kai tried to cover himself with a blanket while holding onto his still tightness and aching chest.

"Come on, at least take a walk for a while. Just staying in your room is not good for you." His grandpa went into his room and slowly help him to wake up from his bed. "Go wash up, grandpa will be here waiting. Today you must go out. You need fresh air.

Kai walked slowly to the bathroom, trying not to let his grandfather see that he was in pain.

"You sure you can go by yourself, don't you want me to come with you?"

"I'm just walking around here. See you later." Kai then walked out of his grandpa's bookstore.

Kai kept walking away from his grandpa's bookstore. He looked around, nothing exciting. Everything seemed so ordinary to him, only a small town looked like a village. He wondered what made his grandpa decide to move to this town.

His steps settle in front of a playground, his gaze drawn to a lonely playground, a place so quiet as if no one would come to play there. But then a blue bird landed on his shoulder. The bird didn't move and its small eyes looked into Kai's and it didn't seem afraid of him. When kai reached for the bird with his hand, someone bumped him from behind that made the bird fly away.

"I want ice cream"

They're playing in a secret tree. They are. Soobin sat in the tree while drawing in his sketchbook, Yeonjun sat next to Soobin and played with his video game. Beomgyu and Taehyun sat in their hive with their favorite activity, read the book.

"You've had a lot of snacks before we're here Byeol-ah." Soobin answered while keep drawing on his book.

"But I want ice cream oppa."

Hearing his whimpering sister, yeonjun finally stopped playing the video game, "All right, but no more snacks for the night." Yeonjun patted Soobin's shoulder, telling him to call Beomgyu and Taehyun.

Once out of the area Byeol instantly shouted with joy and began running "Yeyyy.. Ice cream.."

"Byeol-ah don't run, you'll fall." Soobin screamed worried to see Byeol. And that's right, not far Byeol ran, she bumped someone and fell. Soobin who saw Byeol fall, instantly running right up to her.
