After two excruciating hours of waiting, singing, and talking my dad and I finally arrive in London.
"So, Dad where do have to stop at in Diagon Alley?" I asked.
" We have to stop at Gringotts for money first, then we'll figure out the rest later when we get out." My dad replied thoughtfully.
"Hey dad."
"Yeah."
"What's it like in Gringotts?" I questioned while stepping out if the car and heading towards the Leaky Cauldron.
You see this is my first time in Diagon Alley because my dad wanted it to be a special experience for me when I turned eleven and got my Hogwarts letter.
"Well," my dad said trying to find the right words, " It's lighted by fire chandelier things and goblins are all over the place because they are the main workers. At the end of the long narrow hallway there is a
a tall podium where the 'head' goblin sits and he will ask you for a key or your wand to verify your vault, where you store your money. You remember what our kind of money is called right?"
" Yeah. Us wizards use money called Galleons. We also have Sickles, and Knuts." I answered.
"Excellent." We are now entering the front door to the pub/inn. " So back to Gringotts. When they prove that's its your vault a goblin will lead us to our vault. Since we are practically rich we get a higher security vault. Not like anyone would be able to break in. Gringotts has a sign that warns people of the risk of trying to break in. No one that I know of has ever succeed, you know stealing from there. Back to the vault. When we go to ours we'll get to ride a cart that's kind of like a roller coaster. I know you like those."
"Yeah I do." I stated. I am in love with roller coasters. I love them even more than puppies and kittens put together. My family goes to Thorpe Park ALL the time, and my dad took me on my first roller coaster and I was hooked. (Just like myself and my dad in real life.)
"So that'll be fun for you. We'll ride it for a minute or two 'cause they're pretty darn fast. Then the goblin will open our vault and I'll get the money. And we'll leave on the cart thing."
"It sounds like loads of fun can't wait to get there."
We are at the brick wall entrance to Diagon. My dad said when he taps the wall with his wand it will magically open up for him.
"Here watch this Lex."
I observed the wall very closely as my dad touches the wall with his elm wand. What it did? The solid brick wall literally OPENED up. The bricked curled back to let us through 'cause this is MAGIC we are talking about people. So, I wasn't that surprised, but my dad doesn't open up walls everyday.
When we strolled through the opening I stopped in my tracks to find myself with the largest collection of wizards I've ever seen. There must've been at least a thousand people just in the street. Not even including the shops. Omg my god the shops. There must have been at least thirty shops on either side. And my dad and I only need to go to five or six places. So this place was huge. Bigger than some of the street in my neighborhood and we leave in an expensive one with long roads and five houses to a ten-thousand foot avenue. That's gives you a good idea of how big my house and this place is.
"Lex? Lexie? ALEXIS!" My dad question yelled at me while snapping his fingers in my
face.
"Huh? What? Oh... Sorry dad just got transfixed on the Alley. It's sorta breath-taking."
"Yeah it is. I remembers first time here with my parents and brother..." He quickly changed the subject, because he's brother (my uncle) and sister-in-law died before I was born. My father doesn't like to talk about them so I don't know much about them. Maybe one day he'll tell me what happened. "Anyway my first time here I was speechless too."
"Kay dad."
"Come on I think Gringotts is open now. Let's go." He said hurriedly and pointing to a huge white building at the end to the Alley.
