After just five minutes of walking. Or should I say bumping into loads of people. My dad and I arrived at Gringotts. It was even bigger than I thought it would be a few hours ago. The building alone was at least three-hundred feet high. So I wonder how big the underground vaults are. It must be miles and miles long. Can't wait to experience it.
"Remember how I said that there was a warning sign before we get into Gringotts? Well, here it is." He said, pointing to the biggest pair of wooden doors EVER.
I went up to the sign and the goblin standing guard greeted me and I said hello back, to be nice. An I read the sign.
"Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn.
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there." The sign stated in poem form.
"Well, that's nice... Good thing we aren't here to steal dad."
"Yeah," he replied, "some of the vaults's security has dragons guarding them."
"Does ours have a dragon?" I questioned.
"You'll see." He said mysteriously.
Now I was more excited then i ever was before. When my dad says something like that, it usually means yes. I mean, dragons are my second favorite magical creature right behind Phoenixes, and right in front of unicorns. I've always been in love with magical creatures. I just love how Phoenixes never die, they combust into flames and a baby one rises from the ashes, that's why some people call them the 'fire-bird'. They've always intrigued me, plus they're B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L, with their vivid red, orange, and gold color, making them look as if they are on fire all the time.
Anyway, back to the interesting subject of Gringotts.
The bank looks the exact same as my dad described it. It crowded with tiny goblins on high platforms. It was only lit by the fire surrounding the tips of the dark green/black walls. I guess the goblins like it dark and unpleasant better than it bright and welcoming.
Then, right where my dad said, was the 'head' goblin. Sitting upon the midnight black podium. Ready to verify our vault and send a goblin to take us to it.
" Lex, c'mon, stop staring. We need to get galleon for your school stuff and money for you just in case. Lex?"
" What?" I replied confused.
"C'mon we need to get going."
"Sorry, zoned out again."
"It's ok. I did the same thing."
"I know." I thoughtfully spoke. "I was just trying to take it all in. With so much to see."
"It's ok. Lets get going."
"Kay!"
So we stroll down the aisle to the 'head' goblin. When we got to our destination my dad had to get the goblin's attention because he was really into his work, writing down something, I don't know what 'cause he was at least up fifteen feet.
My dad cleared his voice a few times and the goblin didn't look up once so my dad said,
" Excuse me." This time the goblin looked up from the parchment. "We are here to take money out of our vault."
