Logan's POVI wake up early as I always do. It's a school day afterall. I get dressed and head to my bathroom to brush my teeth. As I'm finishing up in the bathroom there's a knock on my door.
"You finished? I have to shower," my older brother Andy says through the door. I put my toothbrush back and open the door.
"Yes. I showered last night," I inform him.
"Of course you did," he says grinning and pats my head. I scowl at him but he just pushes past me. I leave the bathroom and head to my room. I gather my things and head downstairs for breakfast.
"Morning son," my father says.
"Morning," I reply.
"Hey sweetie," my mom says. I give a nod and make my way to the coffee maker. I make myself coffee as my mother makes my breakfast. I could do it myself but I get the sense she enjoys it. Likely since she rarely gets the chance anymore. She and my father are busy being heroes though so I don't mind.
She sets down my food on the counter and a plate in the microwave for my brother. Just as I start eating my fathers phone rings.
"Hello?" he asks. I watch as he slowly frowns and his eyebrows furrow.
"We're heading in now," he says and hangs up. He drops the paper he was reading on the table before standing up.
"Honey we have to go. Possible kidnapping," he tells my mother. She gets a serious look on her face as she nods.
"Be safe," I tell them as they leave.
"We will. Bye sweetie," my mother says. About ten minutes pass before my brother heads downstairs.
"Where's mom and dad?" he asks.
"They were called in," I tell him.
"Oh. Well do you want a ride to Patton's and you guys can head to school together?" he asks.
"Let me make sure he's okay with it," I say as I pull out my phone. I text him and ask if it's okay. He responds almost immediately. He says he'd love to.
"Yes. I'd like a ride," I tell my brother. He nods and scarfs down his food.
"It's not good to eat so fast," I lightly scold him. He smiles and drinks some of my coffee.
"I'll be fine," he says. We head out a few minutes later. The 5 minute drive to Patton's house is filled with my brother's music.
"See you later Lo. I gotta head into the shop," he tells me.
"See you later Andy," I say as I climb out of his SUV. I walk up the steps of the two story house and knock on the front door. Patton opens it smiling. He kisses me hello before letting me inside.
"Hey Lo. Have you spoken to Roman or Virgil? They aren't getting back to me," he says.
"I have not. They may already be at school though," I tell him. He nods in agreement.
"Let's head out then. I made cookies. It's a new recipe and I wanted everyone to try them," he says as we walk out the house. He locks the door behind him and we head to school.
Fifteen minutes later we're sitting in first period. Virgil and Roman still have not arrived. The teacher is late as well. When our teacher finally walks in everyone starts to settle down from their rowdy behavior. I'm surprised to see Patton's and my mother walk in as well wearing their hero costumes.
"Logan. Patton. Come with us. Bring your things," Patton's mother Amy says. Patton and I share a look but gather our things anyway. We stand up and follow our mothers outside the classroom.
