Virgil's POV

We leave the warehouse and are immediately immersed in fighting. My eyes are closed so I can't see it but I can hear it. The shouts and grunts of both sides.

"Over there. It's my parents," Roman says. I peel my eyes open to see Jet and Royal Warrior fighting side by side not far from us. We make our way over to them.

"Mom! Dad!" Roman yells as I see Charlie pull back her hand. The two heroes turn towards us and immediately look relieved.

"Ahh!" I say as I can feel the energy starting to force it's way out.

"I can't. I can't hold it in- Ahh!" I say and my full body jerks slightly. Roman lowers me to the ground. He starts to explain what's going to happen to them and they nod along. They tell him they already know because of my brother.

"I.. I have to go up!" I tell him and try to stand. I'm wobbly but I manage to get to my feet.

"What do you mean?" Jet asks but Roman nods.

"The energy will shoot outward all around me. Maybe if I go high enough I can prevent the blast from hurting anyone," I say.

"I'll take you," Roman tells me.

"No. You might get hurt," I tell him. He just smiles and says he won't.

"Invulnerability remember?" he asks. I smile softly in return.

"Besides you can't fly alone," he tells me.

"Roman. Are you sure?" I ask him.

"Doing stuff like this is what it means to be a hero," he says resolutely. I look at his parents to make sure it's okay. They nod with what I assume is their permission.

"I'll have to be able to hold on to you otherwise when it happens we'll both be thrown back. It last for about a minute so you have to hold on tightly. He nods and walks in front of me. I wrap my arms around his neck and his wrap around my waist.

"We'll be back," Roman says to everyone around us. The fighting seems to have died down so there are plenty of spectators.

Then he takes off into the sky. He's a fast flyer so it only takes us about a minute to reach a safe altitude.

"Any higher and we won't be able to breathe," I hear him tell me. I look down and nod.

"This should be high enough," I say loud enough he can hear me over the wind. My body jerks and I want to curl up but I can't. So instead I wrap my legs around him and squeeze him.

"It hurts," I tell him.

"I'm sorry that I can't do more to help," he tells me.

"It's fine," I assure him and squeeze him a little tighter. I'm not using my super strength so I doubt it's hurting him at all. I ask him anyways.

"You're fine. If it helps even a little bit go ahead," he tells me.

"It's coming," I say and then clench my teeth so hard I'm afraid they may break. It takes everything in me to hold back a scream as the energy shoots out all around me. I feel the energy trying to push me away from Roman but he holds me firmly without hurting me.

A couple minutes or so pass before all the energy is expelled. As the energy leaves my body I feel as if my body weighs a hundred pounds but I manage to stay wrapped around him.

"Is it safe to go down?" Roman asks over the wind.

"Yeah," I tell him. I close my eyes and snuggle into his neck. He takes his time going down since we aren't in a hurry anymore.
