Chapter 8

"Stop being so weird and happy it's creepy, and also can you tell me where we're going now?"

"Like I said I'll explain later."

Childe grinned and kept walking.

I stayed silent after this. I mean sure I could be patient but this man brought me out here for some unknown mission and isn't telling me what it's about? Seems kind of suspicious to me.

Why did I agree to go with this idiot?

At this point it was starting to get darker, we've stopped a few times to eat something and the continued walking.

"Should we find someplace to sleep?"
I said as I sat down on a rock. My legs sore from all the walking.

I sat down on the nearest rock waiting for Childe to answer.

"We could find someplace but we'll have to sleep outside."

He said.

"That's is to be expected when we're out here outside."

I tried looking around for a good place to stay for the night. Eventually, we found a good place. Childe was making us food and I was setting up our "camp".

"Wow, so you're not bad at making food huh."

I said as I continued eating by the fire.

"What? We're you doubting my cooking abilities??"

"Yes, I mean you can't use chopsticks so-"

Trying to not laugh isn't easy especially when we're eating. I wouldn't want to choke and die.

"That was ages ago, and besides does it have anything to do with my ability to cook?!"

"Yes."

Childe looked at me with a disappointed look as I laughed uncontrollably. A few minutes passed and I had finally calmed down. After all that laughing I started feeling sleepy.

"I'm going to go to bed now."

I said as I stood up from the fireplace and walked towards our sleeping bags.

I closed my eyes and waited for me to fall asleep.

I rubbed my eyes as I slowly started to process where I was.

Oh, right it's morning.

I sat up looking to my right where Childe was. To my surprise, he had woken up before me and he was looking at me.

"Stop staring at me idiot"

I kicked Childe in the face and got up to go and try to find something to eat.

"Ouch...hey was that really necessary??"

"You were staring at me what else was I supposed to do?"

I turned around to look at Childe who was getting up as well.

"Fair enough"

wait what.

uh...okay

"Childe I swear to god if you're not telling me what the mission is I'm leaving. You told me you would tell me about it later. Later is now. So go on explain."

I crossed my arms and stopped walking.

Childe sighed and stopped too.

"Aha well yes I did say that"

I raised an eyebrow to this. Why was he acting like he was avoiding telling me??
It's not like it's his biggest darkest secret.

I waited patiently for him to finally answer me.

"Well.. the truth is that there was no mission to begin with. But!-"

I was in shock. He lied to me??? I did think about some cool mission with like 4 ruin guards or something.

I didn't know how to even begin to deal with the emotions inside me. Before I could think about anything I changed directions and started walking back home.

I didn't look back at Childe. But I knew he was feeling guilty. I knew he would try to stop me so I started running as fast as I could.

I may not have a good stamina but right now I felt like I could run to Liyue maybe. But it was only a feeling. Not long after I stopped to breathe. I was out of breath from running away that fast and with all the stuff I had taken with me.

I took out my map and I noticed that I could make it to Wangshu Inn by nighttime if I would start running there. So I ate something quickly and started heading off to Wangshu Inn.

The sun was already setting and I was almost at the Inn. I hadn't forgotten about what Childe told me. I was still very upset but the sadness changed to anger over time because now I wanted to punch that man.

I was feeling sleepy so I found the nearest rock and quickly fell asleep.

AAAH oopsie sorry i took so long. i was struggling with ideas again but here it is I also have more ideas so maybe a new chapter tomorrow or later ahaha... who knows really
