"Keep your eyes closed. Don't you dare open them." Luke teased as he and Sierra led you up the driveway, her hands covering your eyes as her and Luke helped you take every step.
"I won't. But why won't you let me look? And why did you have to drag me all over town for the last three hours? I miss Cal." You pouted and heard them both chuckle.
"You'll see." Sierra said and you heard the door open.
"Okay. Well, you're home now!" Luke yelled out, which you found a little odd.
Sierra uncovered your eyes, unable to hold back a little excited squeal falling from her lips.
As soon as your eyes opened as you stepped inside, a crowd of people jumped out and yelled 'surprise!' at the top of their lungs.
You jumped in shock but started to smile from ear to ear. It was almost as big as your boyfriend's grin.
He walked to you and pulled you into his arms, kissing the top of your head lovingly as he whispered in your hair.
"Happy birthday, baby girl."
"This is why you had them take me away for a few hours?" You asked as you put your arms around him.
"Had to set it up somehow." He smiled.
"So... you didn't forget?"
"You thought I forgot your birthday?" He frowned as he pulled away from the hug, his fingertips brushing along your arms.
"Well, you didn't say anything about it all day."
"I was trying not to let it slip. I went through a lot of planning and hard work with the boys and everyone else here. Couldn't let the cat out of the bag when it was so close to happening."
You grinned and pecked his lips a few times, smiling against them as the boys came to your side.
"Okay, lovebirds. You've got all the time in the world to kiss. But it's a special day and we're all wanting a minute with the birthday girl too!" Michael teased as he pulled you away from Calum and into his arms for a hug.
"Happy birthday."
"Thanks, Mikey."
You hugged Ashton next, who held you so tight it was hard to breathe.
"Happy birthday," he said and rubbed your back before you went to hug Luke and Sierra next, who squeezed you tightly and didn't want to let you go.
"Happy birthday. We all love you so much." Luke said and let you go before you walked to your friends and family, as well as more of Calum's friends and his family.
Calum stood off to the side, taking a deep breath as he kept feeling for the ring inside his pocket.
"She's so happy." He smiled as he watched you.
"She's happy now... and you haven't even asked her to marry you yet. Imagine how happy she's going to be after that." Michael smiled and Calum nodded, his heart leaping in excitement.
He gave you some time to mingle and enjoy yourself. It's your special day and he didn't want to get down on one knee right away.
He was happy to stand back and watch you with bright eyes.
Soon, he decided it was time for cake, and everyone sang you happy birthday.
He held you in his arms, his eyes full of love and pride as he sang quietly in your ear.
Once the song was done, before he served up the cake, he interrupted everyone to give a little speech.
"Excuse me, everyone." He said as he took your hand into his, turning to face all of your family and friends surrounding you.
"I want to say thank you all for coming. We worked so hard at planning this special day out for my beautiful girl here and I'm very happy you all made it. I know y/n is even happier about it."
You nodded, a grin on your face before turning to stare at him with loving eyes.
"But this isn't the only special thing I have planned for the day." He said and leaned over to kiss your cheek before taking both of your hands into his.
He stared at you with soft eyes, dropping his forehead onto yours.
"My beautiful girl," he whispered softly, kissing the corners of your lips. "I've been in love with you from the moment we met. You've changed my entire life, making me a better man and a much happier one at that."
You always love hearing that; that you make him happy. Because every single day, he makes you the happiest girl in the world.
"I can't imagine my life without you. I've been thinking about how to do this for the longest time and I think this is the perfect time."
You felt confused at first but when he dropped one of your hands and reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring, it all sank in.
You gasped as you watched the love of your life get down on one knee in front of you. His eyes were full of happy tears and love for you.
"Y/N," he smiled, squeezing your hand. "I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to fall even more in love with you every day, as I do right now. I want you to be my wife. I want to marry you more than anything. So... will you marry me?"
You smiled through your tears and knelt in front of him.
"Yes!"
Family and friends around you started to cheer and clap, but no one was louder than the boys.
Calum slid the ring onto your finger before kissing your hand softly and lingeringly.
"I love you so much, my beautiful girl."
"I love you too, Cal." You whispered and kissed his lips lovingly.
"Happy birthday, baby. Here's to many more."
"I don't know how you're going to top this one, Cal." You giggled and he did the same, pecking your lips once more.
"I'll find a way." He promised, squeezing your hand as your foreheads touched as he put his on yours.
And you knew he would.
He always has his ways.
But this is one to remember for sure. You'll never forget it for as long as you live as you get to spend the rest of your life right by his side.
