Six: Homecoming

"Hey B, are you almost done? Your makeup looks amazing, we gotta go" Ashlyn groans.

"Yes, I'm done whiny bitch. Let's go" I say finishing applying my lip gloss.

"I'm not a whiny bitch, I've just been ready to go since" she looks at her empty wrist "30 minutes ago."

"I just want to look good! I'm trying to make it seem like I'm emotionally stable"

"What a catfish!" Ashlyn laughs.

"Tell me about it. Now let's go"

We get to the school, both of us looking extravagant. We grab our tickets and head inside the gym. We take the BEST pictures together, let's be real, no one could compare.

We find our table where Carlos, Ricky and Big Red were already there.

"Hey everyone!"

"Hey Bella" Ricky smiles.

"You look pretty, Ash" Big Red says nervously.

Oh?

"Thanks Big Red" She smiles.

"So do you, Bella" Big Red blushes.

"Thanks Red"

"Okay girlies, look at you two!" Carlos says standing up and hugging us.

"Thank you! Look at you! You look so good!" I squeal.

"Stoppp" he blushes.

"We will not" Ashlyn says.

We all sit down and start chit chatting.

"Excuse us. These seats taken?" Gina asks with EJ right beside her.

What in the hell?

"They are now. Sit" I smile cautiously.

Gina sits by me and EJ on the other side of her. Of course she sits in-between me and EJ.

What even happened? Please don't tell me him and Gina are now...I swear to God.

"Where the hell is Seb? Why isn't he here yet?" Carlos asks.

We're an hour into homecoming and Seb is his date and he's still not here.

"He'll show up, okay? Maybe he just hit traffic" Ashlyn says.

"We live in Salt Lake City. There hasn't been traffic since the 2002 Winter Olympics" Carlos says.

"Don't assume Seb stood you up, okay? Maybe he was just in a farming accident" I suggest, rubbing his back trying to comfort him.

"Not helping"

"Could you get me some punch, babe?" Gina asks EJ, touching his arm which I swear makes my red hair brighten.

"Sure...babe" EJ answers, looking confused.

"Hey, not to intrude on date night, but you can do better than EJ. That guy, that guy's bad news" Ricky says scooting into EJ's seat next to Gina.

"You're not exactly one to give relationship advice. And when I want your opinion, I'll ask" She says.

Damn.

"Well, I'm giving it anyway 'cause I sorta thought you were classier than this. But, hey, maybe you really are what people say you are"

Oh shit!

"And that is?"

"Dude" Big Red interjects, trying to get Ricky to shut up.

"Just a little too ambitious for your own good, or anyone else's" he says and that shuts Gina up.
