IT WASN'T SURPRISING to see General Hux glaring at Kylo Ren like he hoped he could force him to spontaneously combust. In fact, it was quite common. Probably why no one took note of Hux's particular reason for his absolute seething rage towards his rival. Kylo Ren was talking to you. Kylo Ren didn't talk to anyone. Unless it was one of the Knights of Ren, Kylo had very little contact with the rest of the staff aboard the Finalizer, but here he was, involved in deep conversation with you.
A ripple in the force beat against Kylo's back. A ripple that was trying to be a roaring, violent torrent of unbridled rage. He nodded along to what you were saying in ambiguous agreement. When you paused he reminded you again how helpful you'd been and how much he appreciated your work. This brought an end to conversation and he nodded to you again in "goodbye", turning in one black tornado of movement to find Hux already marching over toward him.
"I'll beat you senseless with my own hands. I don't think you understand," Hux didn't give Kylo a moment to adjust. The second he had crossed into Kylo Ren's wide berth of personal space, he was spitting into his face. "This is not one of our quarrels, Ren. You leave (her/him/them) out of it or I will burn you to the ground."
Hux vibrated with unadulterated rage, but Ren could see underneath it; fear. He was so afraid to lose you, he was quaking. He was risking everything he'd gained and forgetting what a mistake it was to reveal a weakness to Kylo, all because he had simply spoken to you once about your performance.
"(She/He/They) are good at their job." Ren replied. The amusement in his tone fell on deaf ears.
"Don't talk to (Y/N) again, Ren. I've warned you." ——— WORD COUNT 317
