"But tonight you look so pretty" Hey there Delilah by Plain White T's

Harry POV:

I woke the next morning at 8, expecting the first Saturday of term to be gray as usual. I was indeed correct when I saw the grey skies looming over Hogwarts. Ron was still snoring, so I took the opportunity to get showered and ready for the day.

When I got out, Ron was awake and sitting on his bed. He had a note in his hand. "What is that?" I asked Ron. "It is from Draco." He said. "What does Draco want?" I asked. "Read it yourself mate." Ron said, looking slightly taken aback. I looked at the note and it read:

If you three ever do anything to harm Emlyn, you will hear from Matteo Riddle. I have informed him of the situation and he is planning that in his next free time he and Emlyn will wed. I hope you will respect the wishes of the Dark Lord's son and keep her as safe as possible.

I grabbed Ron by the arm and rushed into the common room, to my relief Emlyn and Hermione were on the couch with a similar piece of parchment. "Harry!" Emlyn said. "Are you alright?" She asked. "Yeah, you?" I asked her. "I could be better. I got a letter from Matteo. He said that Draco sent you two one." She said worriedly. "Here let's trade letters." Ron said as he handed Hermione ours and she handed theirs to us. Emlyn's letter read:

Potter, really? Of all people. I will see you soon dear. Hope you are ready for me.

-M.R.

Her letter was short and to the point, he did not want her to spend time with us. She read ours and shook her head. "We need to get to the bottom of this. What do they want?" She said. "There isn't anything about wanting information in any of these letters." Ron replied. "We can only assume. They know what we are capable of. They think that we will find something out that they don't want us to know." Hermione said.

"There is something they want. I am sure of it." Emlyn said. "Why don't we eat and then we can go from there." I replied. I was hungry and if I was, I knew Ron was probably starving. we headed down to breakfast, there were pastries and cereal all set out. Ron looked lovingly at a chocolate croissant.

After breakfast, we were headed to the library when Draco stopped right in front of us. "Get my letter Potter?" He asked. "Yes Malfoy." I said. "Good, now I expect you to take the initiative and lay off Emlyn. I am sure she doesn't want to be bothered by you." Draco said. "Draco, these are my friends. Not some stupid suitor." Emlyn spat. "Matteo is not a stupid suitor. He is your future husband. I heard he is free some time after Christmas, so be expecting a letter around then." Draco said as he rolled his eyes and walked away.

One of his friends stopped in front of Emlyn, "Shame I didn't get you first." He said with a suggestive smirk. "Lay off!" I hissed at him and he ran behind Malfoy. "Thanks Harry." Emlyn blushed. Hermione caught it and nudged me. I glared at her. We were on the same wave length most of the time.

The library was surprisingly busy for the first Saturday of the term. I knew that we couldn't get into the restricted section this early. We would need to get in later. Probably with the invisibility cloak. "I saw a few more books yesterday that we couldn't carry. Ron would be of help?" Hermione asked. "Sure." Ron said as he got up to follow Hermione.

"I am scared Harry." Emlyn admitted. "Don't be. We will get you out." I said. "You don't need to save me Harry. I have known this forever, I just never chose to accept it." Emlyn said. "Please, we will always be here for you. We can find a way out." I told her. "Thanks Harry." She said and she gave me a hug.

Ron and Hermione came back with four more books and put them on the table. "One for each of us. I didn't see anymore that could be of help." Hermione said as Ron placed the four books on the table. "Thank you Ron." Hermione said with a nod.

We looked in the books, read each page carefully, then Emlyn piped up. "Guys! I've found something." She exclaimed. We immediately looked up from what we were doing. "It says here that the dark arts are not an open and close case. The baseline must be kept safe. The material is locked away. Nobody has seen it in years." She read the passage.

"What is 'it'?" Hermione asked. "A prophecy, a book, a scroll, a measly file?" She said. "Nobody knows. But it does reference another book." Emlyn replied. "What is the book called?" I asked. "It is called The Base of It All: a Dark Arts Encyclopedia." Emlyn read. "It is probably in the restricted section." Ron chimed in. "If it is here at all. Why would they keep a dark arts encyclopedia at a school?" Hemione said. "Good point, but it is worth the shot." I said to the group.
