𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 and staff were in the great hall, awaiting the sorting ceremony and the feast. The great hall had been unexpectedly too quiet in the past few months due to Lord Voldemort's rise in power and the gruesome murders of the muggles and half-blood witches/wizards, it had put everyone on edge, making them paranoid and anxious.
Well, not everyone. Among all the students, there was a certain group of five students that were seated on the Gryffindor table smiling mischievously and talking loudly among themselves, occasionally getting disdainful glances from the silver-green house.
The Marauders, as they liked to call themselves were a well known group of five students, James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, Azalea Evans. All of them were well known in Hogwarts for their ingenious pranks and charming personalities.
James Potter was leaning on the table with a love sick smile on his face as he watched a red-head beauty talk to her friends. Everyone in Hogwarts was well aware of the fact that James Potter was absolutely smitten for the fierce muggle-born witch, Lily Evans, who refused to even spare him a glance.
Azalea Evans merely spared her best friend a glance and looked away, hurt flashing past her eyes before she masked it with faux cheerfulness which unsurprisingly or surprisingly only her other best friend, Sirius noticed and nudged her.
"Should I break his jaw?" Azalea's eyes widened at his words and hurriedly shook her head making him shrug, "I love james-" He begins leaning closer to her to whisper the next words, "but I love you more, don't tell any of this to those dimwits though." He finished, smiling seeing his best friends face lit up with a shy smile.
Sirius Black went back to his task of winking at any random girl and making cheeky remarks, but his attention was solely focused on a soft brown eyed boy from the corner of his eye, who was desperately trying to not fall asleep while smacking the small faced boy with dirty blond hair for his table manners.
Remus Lupin was trying his best to not be bothered by the constant flirting of a certain grey eyed boy with a charming smile, who he secretly had a crush on since his first year. Though, he still had a small smile on his face looking at his best friends, savoring the rare moment of pure bliss and happiness.
Peter Pettigrew was huffing and waiting for the sorting ceremony to begin so that he could eat, which was surprising with how many sweets he had on the train.
In the other corner of the room, on the silver green table, there was yet again a group of three boys, Regulus Black, Evan Rosier and Rabastan Lestrange. The three of them have been friends for as long as they could remember and excelled in their respective fields.
