I'll wait for that day

Lying on his bed Daniel didn't know what to do it was just day one of his sick leave and he already felt like it had been one week. He kept seeing this and that in his phone to pass his time and he came across Anna's number, the urge to call her awakened in him. He kept looking at that number and thinking " should I call her..? But what will I say? How are you? But she's my boss I can't casually call her and ask this." He bit his fingernails and kept thinking " should I call her and tell her that I am alright now? Will she care?" He suddenly bit his fingernails too strongly that it started bleeding and when he turned to look at his fingers he accidentally clicked the call button " AHH FUCK"

Anna picked up the phone " Hello? What's the reason of you calling?" Daniel was so shocked he didn't know what to say he replied " Ann.. I mean Miss swift I..." He kept stuttering Anna said " are you drunk? Is this what you're using your sick leave for???" Daniel said " NO NO I... I just wanted to ask if I can come to office today... I mean I feel really well now... And I also miss.. you.." Anna shouted " WHAT??? " Daniel replied" AH I mean I miss your office... Hehe... So can I come to office?" Anna said " I gave you the order to be at rest for three days and that's it. You are allowed to come after three days but not before that. So I'll end the call now." Anna ended the call.

Daniel didn't know if he should be happy that Anna is caring about him a little bit or sad that he won't be able to see her for three days. He lay on his bed again thinking what to do and suddenly he remembered something. He went to his drawer and pulled out a locket from it. It was a half heart. Of which the other half part he gave to Anna when they were younger and use to be friend. Daniel looked at it and murmured to himself " even though it was just a half part of this locket that I gave you, but my heart totally belongs to you Anna. It always did." *Sigh* " do you still have that half part Anna? Is it still important to you?" He asked this question knowing there won't be any answer. He wore that locket in hope that it'll make him feel less lonely.

Three days passed Anna was busy working when she herd a knock on her office's door. Without looking she said " come in " and the person came in and Anna herd a really melodious voice. A voice which was missing from office from three days. It was really pleasing to hear. Daniel said " Good morning Miss Swift I'm sure you Missed me. *Wink*" looking at that beautiful face which again smiled brightly and he even winked at her today... What??? Winked???? Anna came to a sudden realisation and shouted " DANIEL HOW DARE YOU?!!?" Daniel realised his mistake and apologised " I'm really sorry Miss swift... I was just so happy to see yo-... I mean your office *coughs* *coughs*" Anna said " okay then go to work and bring me coffee. Daniel nodded and went straight to make coffee for Anna.

He came in some minutes later and when he was placing the cup of coffee on Anna's table Anna suddenly looked up. They both stared into eachother's eyes and Anna's vision fell onto the locket that popped out of Daniel's suit... She said " Thi... This... Are.. you?" She couldn't make a sentence Daniel noticed and he didn't know what to do it was too late he was exposed!!!! Daniel stuttered and said " Anna... I mean Miss Swift... I..." Tears and anger filled in Anna's eyes she shouted " SO YOU'RE THE DANIEL CRISTOPHER WHO RUINED MY LIFE HUH?? WHAT DID YOU CAME TO RUIN NOW??? WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW??? I AM LIKE THIS IS IT NOT ENOUGH?? THAT'S WHY YOU CAME IN MY LIFE AGAIN?? TO RUIN IT COMPLETELY??? Anna shouted like this tears flowing from her eyes she looked really miserable.. seeing her like this Daniel got reminded of the time when Anna was crying with her mom's body in her small hands and telling him to go away. Daniel said " Anna please listen to me... I don't want-" Anna shouted " DON'T SAY MY NAME FROM YOUR MOUTH!" seeing Anna like this Daniel didn't know what to do tears flowing from his eyes he saw Anna sit in a corner and cry. She looked really lonely like the day he saw her walking in the rain crying and crying with no one by her side.

He didn't know why but he went to take something from his bag he came again sat down so he could be on Anna's level and he took out a pink handkerchief in which thier was a name stiched "Anna" . He took it out and Anna saw it she was really shocked and ofcourse she recognised that it was her own handkerchief that she gave him when they were young. She sobbed but still asked " wh..why do you... Still have it?" Daniel calmed himself down so he could talk, he said " I never threw it away. You said that if I kept it. It'll mean that we can be friends.." Anna was shocked from this she didn't say anything so Daniel Said again " Anna the day you gave me this handkerchief we were friends, best friend! I... When you told me to go away... I did.. but..but I couldn't help myself.... I realised that my feelings were more than friends Anna... I... I liked you from a long time... I still like you..."

Eyes widen Anna didn't know what to say... This was the guy she hated the most. Whom she never wanted to meet. But deep down in her heart she knew that he is not the one at fault... Everything is fated and she knew that Daniel loved her mom as well... But it's human nature to blame things on others to make themselves feel better... And Anna is a human too. And now he's telling her that he... He likes her?? He still have all the things she gave him and even have the locket... Anna said in her mind " so am I the bad person here?... He.. I knew it's not his fault but I still... Always... Blamed him...?" Thinking that way Anna started crying more and more and she suddenly felt Daniel picking her up so she can stand.

She stood crying so much that she couldn't see properly and she suddenly felt some fingers touch her face... It wiped her tears and then a pair of hands embraced her... Daniel embraced Anna and caressed her hairs with his hands saying " Anna... Anna ... I'm really sorry... I didn't... I never wanted that to happen... I'm sorry for requesting to walk that day... I'm sorry that you're like this now because of me....." Anna felt tears fall on her shoulder... She knew that it's not his fault .. but she was too busy hating and blaming him that she never let her mind think otherwise.. but now she knows. It was her who wronged him.

Daniel kept apologising and he felt that Anna hugged him back. She buried her head in his chest and said " Daniel..... don't apologise.... It is I who have wronged you... I know it's not your fault.." Daniel's coat wet with her tears. they both hugged eachother for awhile.

When the long hug ended Anna was too shy to look at Daniel. Daniel saw that, he chuckled and came close to Anna he bent down and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. Anna was astounded she said "you-" she stopped on this. And Daniel said " So... I... I like you, do you like me?" Anna was really flustered upon hearing this she said. " I... I don't know... I need time to think about all this.. it's all so sudden.." Daniel said " I understand... Then... I'll wait for your answer.."

Some days later Daniel entered Anna's office with a cup of coffee and a letter. He placed both the things on Anna's table and seeing the letter Anna was really shocked she said " You- why? What is this resignation letter for?" Daniel gave her a really bright smile and said " It's for me! See there's my name written" Anna gave him a look and said " I need explanation" Daniel hesitated a little bit and said " you know you asked for time... It was okay back then but now that I have confessed... I kind of can't control myself... I keep wanting to hug you... Hold you.. and-" Anna shouted " SHUT UP! don't say anymore, so... This is the reason you're leaving? Where will you work then?" Daniel answered " I'll work in my friend's cafe I've also written my address on it incase you want to visit and give me answer you know..." It took all of her energy to not laugh Anna Said " so this is your final decision?" Daniel answered " yes!" Anna Said " okay then if this is what you want." Anna stopped for a momen and asked " what's the timing of your cafe?" Daniel was so shocked that he forgot how to breathe for a moment he said " ah.. it's open 24/7" Anna chuckled and Said " well then maybe I will visit one day.." Daniel replied " I'll wait for that day" with that Daniel left the office.
