Where am I?

Why am I alone?

Where am I going?

The only things that ran through his mind were questions. He didn't remember, he couldn't remember. His hands pulsed at his sides and his feet burned from walking for so long. His memories were strange, he couldn't remember anything before walking, not even waking up in the middle of nowhere - which he assumed he did.

Confused was the only word to describe (Y/N)'s thoughts. Where was he? Who was he?

Looking down at one of his pulsing hands, he saw bright red, glowing streams that matched the patterns of his veins. What was he?

He ran his hand beneath his nose a bit, feeling dried blood just above his lip. Why had he been bleeding?

The sound of a car's wheels scratching the road interrupted his thoughts. His head snapped back to see a pair of lights coming towards him. Turning his head back, his feet started to speed up. He didn't know why he was running, but his gut told him that he should. Although, he was no match for the car that rolled down the driver's window, a woman peeking her head out of the car to catch his attention.

"Little boy? Litte boy, are you okay?"

He ignored her calls, his feet moving as fast as they could to try and lose the woman. Suddenly, the car stopped, and its lights turned off. His panic level shot up once the woman got out of the car and started running after him. She was much faster than the boy, easily catching up to him and wrapping her arms around his waist to keep him place.

"No, let me go! Let me go!"

She did her best to keep him in place as he thrashed around, trying to get out of her grip. She made her voice as soothing as possible,

"Hey, hey. I'm not gonna hurt ya'. I just wanna make sure you're okay, sweetie."

His thrashing became a little less violent, but he didn't stop moving. His eyes started to fill with tears, but he didn't know why, he felt scared. It wasn't of this woman; she didn't feel threatening, something else was scaring him. The woman thought of what she could do to calm the boy down, thinking of her son, she gently started to pet his head, running her fingers over his shaven head.

The exhaustion of walking for so long caught up to him. His eyes started to droop. He shook his head, forcing himself to wake up, but he didn't fight against the woman anymore.

"Why are you out here all alone, dear? Where are your parents?"

He didn't answer, he couldn't answer, not when he didn't know himself. She sighed, motioning back to her car,

"Come with me, dear. I'll get you somewhere safe."

When the two arrived at the lady's house, she rushed him inside. They went through the living room, passing her husband. She led him to a kid's room, there was a bed that held a boy around (Y/N)'s age. She knelt next to the bed, gently pushing her son's shoulder to wake him,

"Dusty, wake up, we have a visitor."

The boy stirred awake, he didn't say anything, only looking between the two,

"Do you mind if he sleeps in your bed tonight?"

"No."

He said, laying back down, but scooting over to make room. The woman smiled at (Y/N), lifting him up and putting him in the bed,

"Go to sleep now, we'll find your family tomorrow."

She left the room, leaving (Y/N) and the boy alone. He sat on the bed; his legs stretched out straight over the blanket, his hands rested on his lap as he looked at the boy. He heard a sigh come from him, turning around, the boy looked directly at him,

"Go to sleep."

(Y/N) noticed that he talked weird, he sounded different from his mom, and he wasn't afraid to make his thoughts known,

"Why do you talk like that?"

"It's called cleidocranial dysplasia, I'm missing my two front teeth."

"Oh."

(Y/N) let the silence stretch over the room, before going onto a different topic,

"My name's (Y/N). What's yours?"

"Dustin."

The boy sighed out a response, just wanting to go to bed, another long pause happened,

"How old are-"

"Go to bed!"
