Officer Callahan and Officer Powell parked the car next to the trailer the chief lived in. They hadn't been able to get a hold of Hopper for hours and this morning they delt with another missing persons case. Officer Powell understood everyone's panic, the situation with a kid who's lived in Hawkins for years putting everyone on edge. Officer Callahan was less understanding, wishing the town would go back into its quiet state where he rarely had to take serious jobs, but none the less he would still tag along.

Callahan got out first, leading the way up the stairs. He made his way in front of the door, wrapping his knuckles on the wood while calling out for the chief. When he didn't get a response, he knocked a bit harder, calling out again. In the middle of the second knock, Hopper swung open the door, quickly looking behind the two officers, his pistol ready in his hands. Both officers were quick notice how run down their boss looked,

"Jesus Chief. You alright?"

"What are you doing here?"

Hopper ignored Powell's question, his wariness spiking as his eyes scoped the area. Callahan and Powell looked between each other and Hopper, they couldn't wrap their heads around why he was so freaked out.

"We tried calling, but-"

"Yeah, phone's dead."

A short awkward silence rang between the three, Officer Callahan tried to rid the tension, talking about what happened this morning,

"So, Bev Mooney came in this morning all upset. Said that Dale and Henry went hunting yesterday and didn't come back home."

"She thought they were on another binger, but now she's not so sure.

"I think this whole Will Byers thing has everybody on edge."

"Where was this?"

"It was at the station."

"No, where did Henry and Dale go hunting?"

"Oh, out near Kerley."

Both officers noticed Hopper mutter under his breath, if they weren't giving him all of their attention right now, they would have missed the word 'Mirkwood'. Officer Callahan knew exactly where he heard that phrase before, the boys who were friends with Will said it was where Cornwallis and Kerley meet, but he wasn't sure why the chief was so caught up on that name.

"Okay. You go back to the station. I'll take care of this, all right?"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, leave it."

Before Hopper could fully go inside, Callahan thought of another thing to report quickly grabbing Hopper's attention,

"Oh, hey. They found Barbra's car."

"What?"

"Barbra Holland's car. Seems she ran away after all. Staties found it late last night at a bus station."

"Funny right? They keep doing our job for us."
