a/n: mentions of torture and beatings

DREAM

"Clay..."

I blink my eyes open, smacking my lips. I look around the room, light pouring in through the windows. I hear my name again and look down at Vienna, who's still sleeping.

"Please..." She whimpers. She's sleep talking.

I rub her shoulder but she doesn't respond.

"Please don't do this, Clay." I watch her restlessly move around in the bed, face contorted, looking scared. I know I should wake her but I want to try to figure out what she's dreaming about.

"I beg you, please don't." She mumbles.

Figuring it's probably a nightmare, I rub her shoulder again, much harder to wake her up. She wakes up with a startled gasp.

She looks around the room and then spots me, scooting up the mattress, backing away from me. "Stay back." She orders.

"Vienna, it's me." I try to tell her. Her face settles, hearing the sound of my voice. Vienna's eyes start to water, breaking down in tears.

I pull her into my and wrap my arms around her as she sobs into my chest.

"What happened?" I ask, petting her hair as her cries calm down.

"You... you were trying to kill me," She sniffles, "and teamed up with Quackity to do so."

She walked me through the story, telling me the details.

I had kidnapped her while she was sleeping, and took her back to the prison, where Sam and Quackity were waiting. Quackity had ordered me to torture her in the prison, like beating and hitting her.

Quackity came into the cell where I was torturing Vienna and told me to stop. He unchained Vienna, and she dropped to the ground, all bloodied and bruised up. She looked up at Quackity weakly, tears spilling from her eyes. He took the axe from his back pocket that he used to torture me before and handed it to me.

"Kill her." He whispered to me.

I felt my heart sink as Vienna told me that I woke her up at the exact moment that I was going to kill her.

I shushed her through the story as she started to cry again. "It's okay, I'm here." I whispered, kissing the top of her head.

She looked up at me, eyes puffy and red from crying. "Would you ever hurt me like that?"

I smiled at her, "Fuck no. You're the reason I'm here right now."

She wrapped her arms tighter around me, "You're my world, Clay."

I didn't say anything, just tilted her chin up and interlocked our lips. We kissed for a while, enjoying being connected like this.

We both pulled back, Vienna kissing my nose. "I'm going back to visit Wilbur today. You have to stay here, love."

I nodded, as much as I hated being trapped here, I didn't want to get caught.
