MARCUS AND ARO GO TO TRY AND CATCH UP WITH ELOWEN, but they are stopped by Jasper.

"Wait. I can feel her emotions. They are everywhere right now." He says.

Marcus growls, catching everyone else off guard.

"Are you trying to keep her from us?" Aro asks, equally as upset as Marcus.

"I can still hear her thoughts," Edwards says out of the blue, "She just needs time."

Marcus and Aro look at each other unsure, not knowing whether to listen to Cullens or go after their heart-broken mate. Alice can sense their uncertainty and takes a step towards them.

"I know her address," she pulls out a small piece of paper, handing it to Aro, "Give her some time and try again."

Aro takes the small piece of paper and reads over the words of Elowens address. He looks at Marcus, who gives him a nod and with that he explains to the others that there is no danger, that there will not be a fight today.

In a flash, the Volturi are gone, leaving the Cullens to celebrate.

A couple days go by and the Volturi have been nothing but restless, the kings being the most insufferable. Caius of course noticed the shift in the castle, but has been too stubborn for his own good.

In the throne room, the three kings sat, waiting for their next trial to enter. Usually Aro and Caius would bicker during these times, but all that could be heard was silence, a silence that made everyone in the room feel uneasy.

Marcus, who is normally the most quiet out of three, decides enough is enough.

"Are you ready to apologize to her?" He asks, not needing to look at Caius to make the blonde king aware he was speaking to him.

Caius looks at Marcus and scoffs, "For what?"

Aro rolls his eyes, "You know why brother."

Truthfully all three of the kings have been on edge since that day with Elowen. While Marcus can see the bonds still there, they were weak, making him grow impatient with Caius's childish behavior.

Aro on the other hand wasn't quiet about his distaste towards his brother's stubbornness, making a few snide comments here and there, which Caius has been ignoring.

With the harsh treatment from his brothers, Caius grew agitated, but he knew he was suffering just as much as the other two. He knew what he said was wrong and hearing the pained whimper coming from his mate over and over again in his head, made him cringe in annoyance with himself.

"She can't be our mate. She's a dog-"

"And a vampire." Marcus snaps, "But even if she was a full werewolf, she's still our mate."

"After centuries, we finally had her in our grasp." Aro said, speaking to no in particular, his gaze landing on the floor.

"And you had to ruin it." Aro mumbled, making Caius roll his eyes.

"Don't tell me the moment you smelt her wolf scent, you didn't almost gag."

The other two stayed quiet, making Caius hum, "That's what I thought."

"We've smelled other wolves, they do not smell like her." Marcus states, trying to justify himself, but even he knew he was guilty.

However, he didn't care.

He didn't care for how his body reacted to her wolf scent. It was a part of her and he wanted all of her, no matter what.

Aro didn't mind the smell honestly and it wasn't like her wolf scent was overpowering. Caius was most definitely exaggerating on his part.
