(John B's POV)

Another day.

Another Monday morning, going to school. Except it was different, because I didn't have any of my friends with me. After our big fight on Saturday, I was sure that our friendship was over. Some of the things we had said were so cruel, that I couldn't even believe they were actually said out loud.

I know everyone's feelings were hurt, but we all had too much pride to say it out loud. So, this was the outcome.

I walked into school, my head hanging down low. I wasn't making eye contact with anyone because I was afraid I would accidentally look at one of my former friends, and all the feelings from Saturday would come rising back.

I made it downstairs without bumping into anyone, thank God, and started making my way to my locker. I paused when I saw a familiar blonde figure standing at my locker. On closer inspection, I realized it was Sarah.

Great. Just great.

For a second, I thought she was there to see me before I realized that she was probably just waiting for Topper. Of course. I can't even believe I thought that Sarah would want to see my face right now.

I didn't want to go over there, but it wasn't like I couldn't just not go to my locker. If I waited any longer, I was most likely going to be late to class. So, I sucked it up and went over to my locker.

Sarah looked up at me, a smile on her face before it fell when she saw who she was looking at it. We kind of just stared at each other before I cleared my throat uncomfortable. "Um, you're kind of on my locker."

"Oh, sorry." She stepped to the side to let me get access to my locker. I nodded in appreciation and started to turn the lock, putting the combination in.

Once I got my locker open, I grabbed my books out of there and closed it. I was going to leave, but for some reason, I felt like I needed to say something to Sarah. Don't ask why, I just needed to.

"You waiting for your boyfriend?" I asked.

She shot me a look. "What does it look like? Not like I'm waiting for anyone else who's locker is around here."

Okay, so that was obviously a jab at me.

I sighed. "Are you still mad at me?" Dumb question, John B. Of course she was still mad at me. Hell, I was mad at me.

She rolled her eyes. "What do you think? You came after me, John B."

"I defended you against Pope!" I exclaimed, before shaking my head. No, we did not need to get into another argument. That's not what I started talking to her for. "Never mind, let's please just not fight. I'm sorry for what happened on Saturday."

She didn't say anything so I took a chance on saying something else. "Last summer, we said we would never fight again."

"It's not summer anymore."

"Please, Sarah!" I pleaded. "I know what I did was wrong, but I was just scared of losing all of my friends."

"Were we even friends in the first place?" She questioned before walking away from me, leaving me stunned.
