Ashley's P.O.V.

I was sitting in my living room, nervous as hell... Mom went outside to wait for her boyfriend and his son. I wasn't sure how I would handle this new situation... I was really worried about living with two strange people in my house.

My cell suddenly started ringing, startling me. I looked at the caller ID and there was written Sarah, my cousin's name. I picked up and her bubbly voice filled my ear.

''Hey, girl. What's up?''

''Nothing much. I told you my Mom's boyfriend was moving in today. I'm so nervous, I don't think tons of chocolate could calm me.''- I answered truthfully.

''Yeah, that's why I'm calling. I just wanted to make sure you didn't faint or something like that. Be strong and try to relax. I can hear in your voice that you're not feeling like yourself.'' She knows me so well.

''I'll try, don't worry. Hey, I have to hang up, I think they're here.''- I rushed my words, anxiety building in my system already.

''Okay, okay. Don't forget to call me later.''

I heard doors opening and got up. My Mom entered the room with nervous smile on face. She was followed by tall, dark-haired man. Well, I guess that's my step-father.

"Hey, Ashley, I'm Jonathan... well, I guess I'll be your step-Dad soon."- he said, shaking my hand. His grip was firm, and his hand very big, so my small one got lost into his huge palm. He had wrinkles around his grey eyes and thin lips. Overall, he was handsome and tall, with broad shoulders, in very good shape for a man in his mid forties.

"Hi, nice to meet you finally!"- I put emphazis on the last word, glancing at my Mom. She just smiled meekly at me.

"Ashley, your mother told me so much about you.” - he said grinning, as he wrapped his arms around my Mom's waist.

"Ahh... Classic response when you're meeting the fiancé’s child, right?"- I teased him. "And where's your son, Aiden?"- I asked curiously.

Suddenly, we heard some noise and it seemed like something heavy was dropped. We pointed our eyes at the entrance of the living room, expecting the one who cause commotion to make appearance. My heart started crashing in my chest really loudly, like I knew something big is about to happen.

"I'm sorry 'bout that, I toppled some red box from the dresser in the hallway."- boy said, entering living room lazily.

He was really tall, almost like his father. His hair was dark, similar color to mine, but blue eyes was the thing that stunned me the most. It was like some artist extruded all shades of blue, mixed it up and added a little bit of green, then colored his eyes. The most dominate was dark blue, but he had some yellow freckles around his pupils.

He was wearing dark, ripped jeans, plaid shirt and on top black, leather jacket. Then I remembered, he was a bad kid!

"Oh, Aiden, don't worry about that. It's nothing. Really."- My mother said dissmissively. "Aiden, this is my daughter Ashley. She's the same age as you, and you'll attend her school from now on."- she beamed at him. I guess Aiden wrapped her around his finger with some charming words.

"Hi, Ashley"- he said in deep, husky voice, that made my legs go weak. Instead of shaking hands, he came to me and put gentle, affectionate kiss on my left cheek, leaving me paralyzed. I could smell his delicate cologne and mild aftershave. His smell was intoxicating and it left me wanting more of it.

"H-hi..." Damn, did I really need to stutter in moment like this? But it was his fault. He shouldn't have kissed me like that. I looked into his beautiful face and he had smirk plastered all over. Wait, smirk?

I'm sure he knew that kiss would catch me off guard. Bastard. But I'll show him not to mess with me. Just wait, pretty boy. Soon, you won't wear that stupid face expression.

"I'm glad to meet you. I hope you'll be comfortable in my house!"- I said sweetly, regaining my composure. I glared at him but power of his magic eyes was invicible. At that moment I remembered all sluts from my school who will be all over my soon-to-be step-brother. I felt pang of something, but I shruged it off.

"Yeah, that's my wish too. I've never had a sibling, let alone sister, but I'm sure we'll get along. Can't wait for you to show me around and introduce me to your friends."- he said, politely, but I knew his tone was fake. That was just show for our parents. No way I'm letting him around my friends.

I just smiled at his words, but in my head I've already killed him three times. We were just standing in the middle of the living room, not telling a word, until my Mom broke the silence.

"Ashley, you should show Aiden house and his room and help him unpack his stuff."- my Mom suggested, taking Jonathan's hand in hers. I saddened a little of that sight, thinking about my Dad. I guess I need to get used to little signs of their love.

 Life is tough.

"Of course. Come on, Aiden."- I said, heading to stairs without caring if he was following me or not. I guess I wasn't very fast, because I could still hear my mom's worried whispers.
