Ashley's P.O.V.
- Monday morning
Biiip, biiip.
My annoying, stupid alarm roughly woke me up. That means I have to get up, 'cause new school week is about to start. And with that Aiden's first day in my school. God, this is going to be hell. I stood up, took a shower and got ready. I went downstairs, just to be greeted by my Mom's singing. Okay, now this is weird.
She was in kitchen, making breakfast, which I found even more odd, considering she wasn't much of a cook. She wore huge smile on her face and long white, spring dress.
"Hey, Mom. Are you making breakfast?"- I teased her, kissing her cheek.
"Yes, Ashley. This is special day so I took day off at work. I want Aiden to feel welcomed here, that's why we'll start this morning as a real family ."- she said , happiness obvious in her eyes.
"Come on Mom, it's not that special."- I said, pouting. I mean, is he a king or something?
"Don't be jelaous, honey. I bet he's nervous about all this. You'll have to be there for him, help him if he needs something, you know, stuff.."- she trailed, looking into microwave. "I hope this pie will turn out to be good, or I'll throw it into the bin."- she said, narrowing her eyes at microwave, like that'll help.
"Aiden, to be nervous?"- I asked, shocked. I could never imagine that, with his role of an arrogant, overconfident boy.
"Yes, Ashley. I think he uses that mask of a tough boy to protect himself from pain."- she said sincerely, taking plate with great-looking pie.
"I'm not so sure, Mom."- I said, eyeing pie hungrily. I looked through the window, Sun was shining brightly and the sky was without clouds. Thanks God I decided to wear blue T-shirt with skinny jeans, and white, short-sleaved jacket on top of it.
"You're not so sure of what, Ash?"..Speak of a devil. Aiden entered the kitchen, wearing dark jeans with black shirt that looked great on him, perfectly showing his muscles, placed underneath. Come on, Ashley..STEP-BROTHER!
"None of your business, Aiden."- I said, glaring at him. He thinks he can just walk in and interrupt private's converstaions? Not a chance.
"Ashley, please, be nice to Aiden. I don't like to see you acting like that."- she said to me, smiling at Aiden. Traitor. But her words hit the center.
"Sorry, Mom, won't happen again."- I said , looking at the floor.
"Say sorry to Aiden, he had to put up with your harsh tone." Is she really making me to apologize to him? He smirked at me, his eyes radiating with victory and mockery.
"I'm sorry, Aiden."- I said, against my will.
"It's okay, Ash. I know you didn't mean it."- he said smiling like an angel. His words made me look like I did something really wrong, but hey I had him to forgive me my sins.
We made our way to the dining room, where Jonathan was waiting for us, eagerly.
"Hey, family, have you slept well, kids?''- he asked, standing to give kiss to my Mom. They were really happy together, always smiling and whispering to each other.
"Yeah. My bed is really comfortable.''- Aiden answered, biting his piece of pie.
"Me too. Aiden, you need to hurry up a little, we have to be in the school in 35 minutes."- I said, looking at my watch. I so wasn't looking forward to school, with Aiden in it. It's like he was created just to irritate me. He just looked me and shrugged his shoulders, like I said nothing.
"So, are you nervous, son?"- Jonathan asked Aiden, not showing anger from two days ago.
"I think I can handle that, I mean Ashley'll be with me so I think I'll fit in the school, quickly."- he said with oh so famous arrogancy in his tone. Well, that's our Aiden.
"Great. You better hurry up, I bet Ashley doesn't like to be late for school."- Jonathan said, with smug face. I looked at him confused. Yes that was true, but what that have to do with Aiden?
"So what?"-Aiden asked his father, obviously confused with his words, just like me.
"You're too young to start forgetting, son. I told you that you won't be able to use your bike until you improve."- Jonathan said. OH MY GOD. Does that mean that he'll be riding with me till..forever? This isn't happening.
"Please, Jonathan, that isn't fair. I enjoy my ridings to school...and I have to ride with him now. Can't he use your car?"- I glared at Aiden, but soon I turned to Jonathan, with pleading eyes.
"Ashley, cut it off. Aiden is your brother, so start acting like a proper sister. I won't tolerate that spoiled behavior!"- my Mom said, interrupting my protest.
"Uh..okay. Come on, Aiden. It's Monday and I don't want to earn detention for being late."- I said grumpily, standing up and taking my keys, with Aiden closely following me. We came to the hallway, where our shoes and jackets were placed.
"Ash, I like you better with this feisty attitude."- Aiden said, from behind me, taking his jacket, as I bent to tie my shoelaces. I could hear smirking in his husky voice. How can someone be that annoying? I stood up and turned around, facing him.
I leaned a little, almost touching his lips with mine. I stared at his pouty, silky lips for several seconds, but suddenly I came back from my trance. I looked at his eyes, almost drowning in them. I can say that isn't safe to look at his face, at all. "Too bad I don't care for you, let alone your opinion." I said, leaving him speechless at my threshold. I quickly left the house, not giving him opportunity to get his sweet revenge.
"Come on, that wasn't fair."- he yelled frustrated, reffering to the previous teasing. He ran to my car, jumped in the passenger seat, and I started my enginee, not completely ready to face what was waiting for me in hell, a.k.a. school.
