3rd person POV
Ryan had been waiting in the line for hours, and it was finally his time to go into the building, he felt his palms sweat and he was nervous. It was his first time in a long time.
"Right this way" a voice said, Ryan followed the woman to a door, it was a big white door, it looked as it had just got a fresh layer of paint. He looked over to the woman next to him, "He should be in there, wish you luck" the lady said gently. Ryan opened the door, and there he was.
"Ah welcome Ryan, what brings you here?" A voice said, Ryan gulped as his big white pearly wings shuffled behind him. "I was wondering if you had any news on him..?" Ryan said, Scared that if he spoke too loud he would displease the man. "My young child, I do in fact have news, but you might want to sit down for this one" God said, pointing to the chair that stood in-front of a desk.
Ryan quickly sat down, he was more nervous than ever now. Usually this didn't mean anything good, but Ryan was hopeful. Hopeful that what God had to say wasn't going to be bad. "I'm afraid that he has been causing havoc on Earth, and I'm going to need you to take care of this situation as soon as possible."
Ryan sighed, he knew that his break would have to end after this. After all, he was an angel sent to fight against the evil. Ryan looked up at God, "Alright, I'll leave at midnight today". God nodded his head in agreement, Ryan was getting up off the chair before God had spoken. "And one more thing Bergara, he's not the same as he once was."
Those words alone stopped Ryan in his tracks, he felt a wave of shock, grief, and sorrow wash over him. It has been so long since he was brought up, it made Ryan's stomach sink and twist. He looked back over to God, "I know, and I won't let it get the best of me. He means nothing to me as he once did." he said coldly, you could hear the slightest of pain in his voice. God only looked disappointed, he soon nodded.
Ryan continued to walk out the room, he could feel a wave of emotions take over his, he needed to get away to somewhere where no one would see him. He needed to be alone.
——
Ryan sat there staring at his reflection in the water, his mind wandered. 'How could he think I still cared for such a person?', 'Why did he do this..?', 'I shouldn't care for him anymore, why do I feel this pain?'. Ryan didn't notice until he felt warm tears roll down his cheeks, he couldn't hold it in anymore. All this pain he was holding in was simply too much for him to hide away. He missed him, and it hurt to think of him.A rustling noise could be heard from the bushes, Ryan snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the noise. His wings expanding outwards in case he needed to get away as soon as possible, "Hello, is anyone there?" He said a little too quickly.
Ryan could see a tall figure coming out of the bushes, Ryan stood immediately and stiffened. "You can calm down it's just me, Ryan" , Ryan's eyes widened at the sight of someone he hadn't seen in so long. Since the..incident. It was Shane.
The taller man put a hand on the back of his neck, his ink black bat like wings spreading out from behind him. "Why are you here Shane.." Ryan said, his voice stinging like venom. "Uhm, I was just passing by when I saw you over here.." Shane said awkwardly, it has been so long since he'd last seen Ryan.
Ryan glared, shooting daggers in Shane's eyes. Ryan turned away from Shane and began flapping his wings, ready to leave. "Wait! Before you go Ryan, could we please at least talk for a bit..?" Shane's voice said desperately. Ryan stopped, he couldn't help but feel rage. Shane had the fucking audacity to come pleading to him when it was all his fault, all those poor souls he killed.
"No. Shane you've done horrible things to innocent people, and for that I must end you." Ryan said coldly, pulling out a sword that glowed almost brighter than the sun. It's handle was golden, shining. Ryan turned to look at Shane, his facial expression was a mix of pain and acceptance.
"Ryan you know I never meant to, but if you feel like you must kill me to avenge them I think you've messed up." Shane said, with an almost grin on his face. He quickly pulled out a scythe, it was blood red and the handle was made out of silver.
"My poor ry ry, if you think I'm going to let you kill me without a fight you are poorly mistaken. I don't go down without a fight." He said, with malice in his voice. Ryan just looked at him, eyes wide.
