Ahri POV

"So you invited your boyfriend again?"

I groaned at Evelynn's implications and shook my head. "He's not my boyfriend, Eve. I don't think I'll be looking for one for a while either."

The taller girl just licked her lips and smirked. "So does that mean I can have some fun with him? He was kind of cute when he looked all lost and confused."

I gently pushed her, but it didn't seem to bother her. "Eve, he's a new student. Let him spend a month here before you start flirting with him."

"That's no excuse, I've flirted with others who have been going here for shorter periods of time." She spoke with a scoff.

"...Eve, it's the second day of school."

"Mhmm."

"You've flirted with people on the first day of school?"

"Perhaps."

"...But you don't even know them."

"I can get to know them, if you catch my drift."

"Gross."

Faking a gag, I giggled when she pushed me on my shoulder.

Having finally made it to our usual lunch table, we noticed someone already sitting there.

"Looks like he beat us here, must've been really excited to see you." Evelynn suggested with a smirk as I simply rolled my eyes.

We sat down, me sitting next to (Name), and Eve sitting across from us.

"You got here early," I noted and smiled at him, "don't tell me you were skipping class? That excited to see me."

I could basically sense his confusion from the statement.

It was kind of cute.

"My teacher before this didn't show up, so the entire class was just kind of like across the campus doing whatever they'd like." He said as he poked and prodded at his tray of half eaten food.

"Isn't that like, skipping?" I asked, only for him to shrug.

"Not if you don't get caught." He responded, making Evelynn snort.

She cleared her throat when we looked at her. "He's not exactly wrong. Also, that's one thing I noticed about teachers in high school, if they don't want to show up, they just kind of, don't."

The male placed his fork down and took a sip out of his drink. "But teachers in middle school always told us that high school teachers would be super strict and wouldn't stand for the 'tomfoolery'. Guess that's one thing adults are good at, lying."

His monotone voice alongside his words almost made me burst out into laughter.

All of a sudden, my ears picked up the sound of something flying towards us. Whipping my head around, I closed my eyes as I felt wind hit my face before a loud smack sounded out.

Realizing I felt no pain, one of my eyes cracked open to see a hand in front of my face.

Once I realized I was okay, I opened both of my eyes and saw the hand was connected to (Name), who caught a football with one hand.

I could faintly hear him whisper "Odell," under his breath, but that wasn't important right now.

A tall, extremely large male walked over with a snide grin walked over to us. "Sorry, must've lost control of the ball." He apologized, but even stupid people could tell he didn't mean it.
