Keditha's Betrayal

Chapter Three

Philip hands me off to a guard as we enter a large empty room. The guard grips my arm tightly as the alarm rings throughout the room. Whoever it was, was getting closer.

Philip shifts his weight, looking uneasy. “You should be nervous.” I snap at him. He just quickly shushes me.

A loud blast sounds and the giant metal door flies off its hinges. The guard wraps his arm around me, placing his gun right under my chin.

A figure walks through the smoke. “The security here is just pitiful.” Kenny says. All three of the men guarding me, point their guns at Kenny. “Seriously? You’re going to shoot me?” Kenny spins, lifting his jacket up. “I’m unarmed so isn’t that illegal? Wait, no. That’s the Jedi Order rules, I’m sorry. That’s star wars.”

“What do you want?” Philip snaps.

Kenny raises a eyebrow. “Isn’t it obvious? I want my girlfriend.” He says.

Philip’s gun lowers slightly. “Girlfriend? So you’re dating?”

“I’d like to think so or else this will be extremely awkward.” He chuckles.

“So what’s keeping me from killing you right now?” Philip threatens.

Kenny raises his arms in defense. “Again, not armed and I just want to talk.” Kenny pauses. “Also, why aren’t you worried about him?” Kenny points behind us.

We all look behind but no one was there. “Oh sorry my bad, no one’s there.” I hear Kenny say.

When we all look back, Kenny had a gun pointed at Philip’s head. “Yeah, I lied.” He smiles. “I also lied about no one being behind you.” He says.

A familiar click sounds behind Philip. “Put your guns down.” Louis orders.

Philip clicks his tongue. "You shouldn't have done that. I said I would kill her if need be." Philip glances over at the guard holding me. "Do it."

The guard presses the gun against my head but before he could pull the trigger, Kenny shoots him right in the middle of his forehead. He swiftly moves his gun to other side of Philip and kills the other guard.

"Put your gun down. Now." Kenny snaps.

Philip slowly places his gun on the ground, straightening as he raises his hands in defense. "I don't want any trouble." He laughs awkwardly.

"Are you okay?" Kenny asks me. I give him a small nod.

"So how does this work?" Philip asks us. "Did you just leave Julian in the dust then?" Philip grins.

"I don't love Julian." I reply shortly.

Philip steps towards me, leering at me. "Really? I remember the way you used to look at him, sure times have changed but darling, feelings like that just don't go away."

Louis shoves Philip back. "Keep your distance please."

All the metal doors open and guards flood into the room. Philip starts laughing. "Why, would you look at that? I win."

Casey walks through the swarm of guards instantly making eye contact with Louis. "You."

Louis grins widely. "Me."

Casey steps next to Philip and me. He gently runs his fingers through my hair. I flinch back, swatting his hand. "What do we do with them?" Casey nods towards Louis and Kenny.

"Kill them." Philip orders. Guards rush forward to grab them and shove both of them down to their knees.

"No! You can't do this!" I yell at them. Philip grabs my wrist, slamming me against the wall as he chokes me.
