Paintbrush's POV:
Achoo!
"Bless you."I said and placed a piece of wet cloth on Lightbulb's forehead. She sneezes again with a few sniffles. I give her a new blanket and pulled the small thermo from her blanket. Hmm, 40 Celsius huh?
"Lightbulb, are you feeling alright?"-I asked her while ruffling her hair.
"Oh it's fine Painty!"-She gave me a finger gun and tried to sit up, but I pushed her back down-"A tiny fever isn't gonna get me down!"
"Tiny?"-I gave her the thermo with a small scowl-"You call this a tiny fever?"
"Ok scratch that. Maybe a not-so-tiny fever?"-She shrugged sheepishly, pushing her face back up with a smile. Her weak giggle only makes my concerns grow.
"Just stay put right there, gotta go feed Baxter."-I sighed.
I go to the living room where Baxter's tank is. He looks at me with black pearly eyes, which I must admit looks kinda cute. I opened the bottle of fish food, flinching a bit at its smell. Baxter happily gobbles up all the food like Lightbulb would. How come those two can eat this thing?!
I return to the bedroom and walk over to Lightbulb, who's sinking deeper into the bed. She's hugging one of my pillows sleepily while looking at the snowy mountain just outside the window.
"Lightbulb, what's with my pillow? Why don't you use yours?"-I asked her as I hold onto the pillow-"Cmon, I only have two of these."
"Mmm, nah..."-Lightbulb whined drowsily, as if she was drunk and not sick-"I like this one, it's soft and smells like you~"
"...Ok fine, you can have it. Just don't get it dirty."-I let go of the pillow and rolled my eyes. My voice turns into a sad tone-"Yeah, you can keep it too if you want."
"Aww what's wrong Painty?"-Lightbulb looks at me, still holding the pillow-"Why the long face?"
"It's nothing."-I looked away from her. After what happened yesterday, it's hard for me to ignore the overwhelming guilt-"It's nothing really."
Lightbulb tilts her head and looks at me with childlike eyes. Her blue-gray eyes feels really nice to look at, they're somewhat rare and are very pretty. Her father's blue eyes and blond hair goes well with her face. She looks pretty...Wait, is that ok to say to Lightbulb? My best friend of all people? It probably mean nothing right? But then again, she is beautiful in her own way.
I walk to Lightbulb's side and give her a head pat. She blushes. Her bright smile makes me feel more relieved. After yesterday incident, I was scared to death, I panicked and cried a lot. I thought I'd lose her and will never see her again.
Lightbulb is the only person who gives me hope of acceptance. She acknowledge me as 'C', none of the above, something my own parents couldn't do. She accepted me as a beast. She's the definition of a true friend, supportive, optimistic and is always there for me. Childish, sure, but I don't care at this point.
"Painty...!"-Lightbulb started whining again-"Why don't we go outside and play?"
"Are you seriously suggesting that?"-I internally face palmed-"You're sick, you're supposed to stay inside!"
"But Painty, I wanna play tag! And build some snowmen! And snowball fights!"-She pouted-"I wanna have fun with you!"
"Lightbulb, please, I get that you want to play, but not today."-I told her sternly-"You must rest, I'm not letting you going outside until you stop sneezing every five minutes!"
"No I do n-achoo!"-Lightbulb sneezes again.
"See, that's what I'm saying."-I pointed to her reddish nose.
