When we get to my house, we quickly put the dogs with mine, and get back in the truck.

Belly and I look at each other and both take deep breaths, while leaning in to hug each other. Which even though we are about to go spend a month at the beach....makes us cry.

"Why are we crying?" I ask, slightly laughing.

"Because this is really happening. This is it. Its almost like starting a new chapter in our lives," she says, looking down on me like a protective older sister.

"Yea, you're gonna be 21....and I'm gonna be 18. The years sense they passed have gone so...so fast...I guess." I say, remembering the last moments with my parents, and brother.

"Seriously," Belly says crying more, "I honestly didn't think you'd would be strong enough to make it through that."

"I wouldn't have been...not by myself at least. But...having you there through it all, that sis. That. Made me get through it all. You're the only family I have now, honestly...I'm okay with that. Sure, I want my family back, but...but by loosing them I gained you. So in a way I'm thankful for that. God had a plan, and it was a mighty fine one too." I have to stop talking, because my sobs cut me off.

"Thanks sis. I love you girl." Belly says, wiping the tears from her face with the back of her hand.

"Don't thank me, I should be thanking you. But I love you too Belly. Sisters forever. Through blood, death and heartbreak. Pinky promise." I say sticking my pinky out.

"Yes. Sisters forever. Pinky promise." Belly says, sticking her pinky out to me.

We pinky promise, then sigh.

"What music shall we listen to sis?" I ask, in a horrible British accent.

"You got Brantley?" she asks.

"Hell yea! Sense when have I not had Brantley?!" I ask back, smiling.

"Oh yea! Stupid question! I'ma idiot!"

"Yea I know this, ain't tellin' me nuttin'!" I say giggling.

"Fuck you!" she says giggling too.

I laugh and start the truck, I turn off 94.3 WKKJ, and crank up my Brantley CD, as we cruise down the road....on our way to the beach!
