"And the secret door swings behind us

She's saying nothing, she's just giggling along."

Secret Door By, Arctic Monkeys

As soon as I was about to head back downstairs to get ready to go down to the diner when my door swung open. A disheveled and angry-looking Bella was huffing and puffing in my doorway. I raised my eyebrow at her in curiosity. I tried thinking of things that I had done today... I didn't do much to piss her off, did I?

"Can I help you?" I tried not to sound snippy in any way, but I could hear I wasn't very successful.

"What did you say to Edward about me?" She snapped back.

"What?"

"You heard what I said don't act innocent!"

"I didn't say anything to him you lunatic."

"Oh please, he acted completely disgusted toward me in Biology today." Bella said rolling her eyes.

I sighed and tried to think of something to come up with...but I really couldn't think of any. Why was he so disgusted by her... he seemed absolutely enthralled with her at lunch.

"He's uncomfortable around new people, it took him a while before we could get... civil." I explained.

"Well, it's no wonder he didn't like you... being around you for 5 seconds must make him want to barf."

I looked at her... my face dropped all of my emotion, my sympathy for her flew out of the window.

"You can leave now."

"Excuse..."

"You. Can. Leave. Now." I said in a snappy tone, and scoffed and slammed my door shut.

"Wonderful... I have to eat dinner with her now." I spoke to myself.

I snatched my keys off the bed and left the house without acknowledging Bella. When I got to the dinner dad was already waiting, looking through the menu.

"Hey, dad sorry I'm late, I got a little distracted."

"Don't worry about it, I was figuring you were busy... where's your sister?"

"She was the distraction..."

Dad had a grimace on his face.

"You didn't kill her did you?" He said in a joking tone.

"No!" I exclaimed before laughing and hitting dad playfully on the shoulder.

"What happened with you two anyway?"

"Oh, she was just asking me about The C..." The diner door opened and slammed shut, the bell on the top of the door rung violently.

"You order me anything?" Bella said an edge was evident in her voice.

"No... I haven't even been here long anyway." Dad said I could tell he didn't appreciate how snippy Bella was being toward him.

Tension was set over the booth, but before anyone could say anything else, Cora, the waitress approached us. She had been excited to see Bella all week.

"I just can't get over how grown-up you are. And so gorgeous." Cora complimented Bella.

Bella just smiled bashfully before looking down at the table.

I scanned the menu, before deciding on a Cheeseburger, Dad ordered a steak while Bella choose a garden burger. Cora walked away, and ran back into the kitchen. The clinking, and clattering of dishes and silverware were the only thing I heard... But then, a familiar voice rang in the diner.
