The Newest Avenger, Book 1

Part. 8

It was now 1 am and I stayed awake to go to the avengers tower for my new mission

After a quick cold shower I got dressed in an outfit that wasn't provided by the maffia boss Martin Rossi because I didn't want to risk being tracked

I packed all my things in a single bag and left the keys of the apartment at the front desk before exiting the building

I walked into the streets of New York and was headed to the avengers tower where I know Natasha was living

I got to the tower in no time since it was only a couple minutes further from where I slept and I was not surprised to see the lobby of the tower without any lights on

I looked through the windows and noticed security cameras filming the inside of the lobby as well as infrared sensors making sure the place was safe

Meaning I couldn't just teleport myself in since it would trigger the alarms

I looked back to see if anyone was paying attention to me and turned myself invisible before using my powers to fly up to a balcony

I landed on the balcony and looked through the window to see the living room of an apartment

I also noticed the door was unlocked so I walked in after making sure there were no alarms active

I floated through the apartment so I wouldn't make any sound and quietly entered the hallway to try to find out where Natasha was at

I heard footsteps approaching and when I saw it was a security guard I zoomed over to right in front of him, scaring him badly but keeping him quiet by freezing him stuck before I dived into his mind

I found out Natasha slept a couple floors up and took the security guards walker key before erasing the last couple of minutes out of his mind

Making my way up I made sure I wasn't seen by any cameras and I quietly made my way to Natasha's front door I pressed the key card against the pad and the door unlocked

I made myself float above the ground so I wouldn't make any sound and the door closed with a slight bang

It startled me but I was more worried about Natasha being woken up

I made my way through the apartment and quickly found her bedroom where she was peacefully seeping

I dove into her mind to see what she was dreaming about and it wasn't even anything special, just something about her romance with random doctor

"Oh Natasha" I said before playing with her dream, turning it into a beautiful nightmare

POV switch to Natasha

The peaceful dream I was having turned into a horrible nightmare and it woke me up in shock

I sat up straight in my bed while being out of breath and noticed someone sitting in the chair across my bed

Reflexes kicked in and after jumping out of bed and grabbing a gun and I aimed for the shadow figure that was sitting in the chair

"Relax Natasha" a familiar voice said
"I bring good news" he said while turning the lights on with his powers

"I've got a mission for us" he smiled at me as I was still out of breath and doubting whether to shoot or not

"What do you mean us?" I asked

"I must apologize for leaving so hasty the last time we spoke but I reconsidered your offer and have decided to join the avengers" he said

While Still doubting whether or not to put the gun down he started to explain what happened
