Chapter 4: new dress

*ring ring
My alarm clock yelled at me to wake up.

"Ugh, it's too early." I stayed up a little late for homework because I couldn't focus and I couldn't stop thinking about Calum.

"Crystal, time to get up." My mom opened my door all dressed and ready for work. How does she do it?

"Yes mam" I said and tried to get out of bed. I walked slowly to my bathroom, brushed my teeth, changed into my clothes, and then put in light makeup. When I was ready, I walked down the stairs and ate breakfast.

"Morning mom, morning dad." I said as I sat down at the kitchen table.

"Morning" they said.

Mrs. Burly Johnson, she works for my house. She doesn't have a family and is about 40 years old so she stays with us and in she works at my house and gets paid monthly. Burly comes my way and puts a plate of pancakes in front of me.

" thanks mrs. Johnson." I said

"No problem. And just call me Burly please miss." Smiled and walked away. Oh crap, I forgot to pick out an outfit for the party. I rushed up stairs and picked out a simple dress. It was a long black dress.

Ok. I finished eating my pancakes and tell my parents good bye and went out of the door.

I started to walk down the road and a car honked at me.

"Crystal" someone in the car said.

It was Calum.

"Oh hi Calum"

"Get in the car" he said.

"But I go to the bus." I said.

"Come on crystal, get in. Don't you get tired of the bus?" He said.

"Fine" I said getting in his car.

When I got into the car he smiled at me.

"How is my girl so far today?" He smiled.

My girl? 😊I blushed. "Great. What about you?" I asked.

"Great too." He drove. When we got to school, he got out of his car and walked and opened the door for me.

He walked me into my class.

"Thanks" I said. I walked to my seat.

"Wait" Calum said and pulled me back. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He smiled.

Umm, I've never had a boyfriend I thought to myself. And mom would never let me have a boyfriend at this age. Everyone was staring as us since he took me into class. "Of course." I smiled and said.

"Great" he smiled, "I'll see you after class beautiful" and gave me a hug and walked away. Everyone was still staring at me. I walked to my seat and then some girl said, "why did you say yes?!" Literally yelling at me, "sorry I didn't mean to yell at you. Let me just tell you, watch out, your heart might be broken."

Ummm, "what why?" I said confused.

"Just take my advice" she said and turned around.

Ummm why do people keep telling me to watch out. Whatever, I shouldn't care bout what others think.

After class, Calum stood at the door for me. "Ready for the party?", he asked and we held hands.

"Yea, I told mom I was gonna go studying so we will have to be back by 8." I smiled. I took it out and shows him the dress.

"I love you crystal, but that's not a dress to wear to a high school party. ", he said, "and 9? Isn't that early?"

"What am I suppose to wear then? And no, my curfew is at 9." I said,

"I'll try" he said smiling. "Now we have an hour before the party. Let's go get a another dress." He said taking me into the car.

"Wait? Another dress?" As I sat down in the car.

"Yes" he said and drove to forever 21. I've seen girls from my all girls school go to this place and shop. But im not into it.

We went inside and he gave me a red dress and told me to try it on.

When I walked out of the fitting room, he didn't smile.

"Um, not that one. It's doesn't fit well." And handed me another dress. We did this about 7 more times and then I walked out in a garnet colored dress.

He smiled. "You look beautiful"

"Thanks, but isn't a little short and revealing?" I felt very uncomfortable. The dress was above my thighs and it had thin straps. My mom would never let me wear this.m

"No it's perfect. You look gorgeous." Now I'll go pay and get you the right shoes. He gave me some black heels and paid.

"All done." He said and we walked out of the store holding hands. Got into the car and here we come party.
