Chapter 4 - The Start Of My Nightmare

As the time passed we both finished high school together, and well everyone knew about our relationship, Ash wanted me to tell his mom about our relationship so I did when I told her she wasn't at all shocked
"I knew Ash had a crush on you for years now" she giggled as she sipped her tea
"really?" I blinked as she hummed and continued

"Ash would always talk about you if not talk he'd even write about you in a journal he has, not to be snooping but when I clean his room this one time I got curious and read a page of his journal and this was from when we moved away for a bit, he wrote about how he was trying to figure his feelings out and well how he'd always get a butterfly feeling inside him when you were around" she smiled at me sweetly
"oh I see" I chuckled slightly as she smiled and also chuckled

When graduating Ash was pursuing his career to open up a cafe so he was busy with business school as I was studying to be a researcher, we had been living together for a while now when we graduated
sometimes I wouldn't be home since some things I had to do at the actual college so I'd go to my dorm over there for some days but Ash wouldn't mind

As for his health just a couple months ago he had to get his kidney removed and had to stay in bed for a bit to rest but he was fine thankfully
when opening his cafe we had to find a suitable location at first of course 
"do you like this one?" I smiled as he walked around the location
"yes" he smiled nodding, the location was pretty it had dark brown wooden floors and large windows plus it wasn't so far from home and my job, so I could pick him up for anything as well as for any emergencies it would be quick
"this is the location" he smiled wrapping his arms around me
"I think so too" I smiled kissing his forehead

When we got engaged I had it all planned out I invited him to my beach house and we had a candle light dinner and we even went to the beach carnival that was being hosted at that time
I was a nervous wreck but then again there was no need to he said yes to me when we first became a couple and when we moved in together, to me the chances were high he'd want to get married with me we had been together for three whole years as a couple, plus the planning would definitely take some time which was okay we were only 21 at the moment

"I really enjoyed tonight, thank you Gary" he smiled at me as I gave him a kiss
"of course, anything for you" I smiled as he blushed with a smile
"you know Ash I was thinking maybe we can do something bigger with our relationship, you know take a step further" I started as he kept smiling all ears
"like what?" he giggled holding my hands
"well it'd be best if I showed you" I chuckled as he grinned and watched as I got on one knee and I heard him gasp and cover his mouth with one of his hands as I grinned and kissed his hand that was still into mine

"will you marry me?" I grinned as he nodded with tears coming down his eyes and sniffling
"yes!" he sniffled with a sob as if chuckled and slipped the gold ring into his finger as he smiled at it admiring it
I got up and hugged him as he sobbed and our lips also met and moved in a loving sync

When our wedding came along Ash looked absolutely stunning, a white flower crown with brown shorts and vest with a white dress shirt, they even put a bit of glittery shiny stuff on his cheekbones and it was all Daisy's idea and she did a good job on it, it looked natural, it didn't even look like he was wearing makeup

he would smile at me as he came down the isle holding onto his mom's arm and blushing as he'd just look at his bouquet making me grin
after saying our vows which Ash was a blushing mess as he said his I slipped his ring into his finger as he'd smile and we shared a kiss which was so sweet and passionately the first one we ever had it was memorable

After honeymoon which was at a resort Ash really wanted to go to which he enjoyed a lot, we spent about a week or two there which made us go into bigger levels our relationship, which lead us to make love for the first time which we weren't really big on really, but it was still a very precious experience
when Ash was happy, it always made me happy to see him happy and that's just what our honeymoon was, full of happiness

Marriage was the best thing that had ever happened to me, waking up to the love of my life everyday and sleeping with him in my arms was always a blessing to me    

We had been married for two years at the time and I went to pick Ash up for dinner since his cafe would close at 6:30
"Ash are you ready to go to dinner?" I smiled as I walked through the door
"saying 'hi' would've been nice" he giggled as I chuckled
"sorry, I just really want to take you to this restaurant" I chuckled as he giggled
"we'll go let me just clean up real quick" he smiled referring to the dirty dishes which I helped him wash

While cleaning the counters he insisted on me sitting out and let him do it, which I did, he's always quicker at doing those kinds of things he's better at doing than I am
when he was cleaning one of the tables up he started breathing heavily and holding onto his chest
"babe are you okay?" I said startled as I helped him sit down

Once he caught his breath he smiled at me
"I'm sorry if I scared you, I'm fine" he smiled
"but what happened? Why were you breathing heavy like that?" I blinked 
"I was just lost of breath and my chest hurt a lot, it's been happening a lot lately I didn't tell you because I'd worry you"  he swallowed, rubbing his chest and sighed as I just zoned off worried his health will worsen again like it used to
"lately . . . " I trailed off
"I'm fine don't worry" he smiled at me lightly, cupping my cheeks and giving me a kiss

I smiled trusting him but little did I know it was just the start to my worse nightmare.
