"Have you talked to him? Did you say goodbye? Have you told him that you're getting married today?"
Continuous questions my Mom asked. I didn't answer any of her questions and I'm just staring in the mirror while Alice is fixing me, my best friend who's a make-up artist.
"You should not be sad on your wedding day, son."
Mom said then she looked at Alice, a sign for her to stop on what she's doing. Alice knew it already so she went out for a while and the moment when Alice closed the door my tears started to fall.
I wanted to, but I couldn't do anything to stop it. It hurts! It is... too much pain! Without saying anything, my mom just hugged me tightly and said...
"I'm sorry son. I can't do anything to ease the pain..."
After a while of crying, I wiped my tears and gave my Mom a fake smile. Alice went back and continued to put makeup on me because it's already getting late. Then my mom went outside to answer a call and a moment of silence came in, that no one is talking inside that room.
After reading his message, I stared at myself again in the mirror and made a fake smile. Then my best friend stop fixing my hair and gave me a back hug.
"I knew that this is just an arranged marriage and... I also knew that you're still into him! But... it's been 8 months since you two broke up and in that 8 months Tay is doing everything just to make you happy." Alice said. After hearing that, I took a deep breath and smiled.
"Are you saying that I need to learn how to love him?"
"I'm not forcing you, Bff. But..."
"But I have to... cause it's the right thing to do?!"
She nodded and smile. So right at that moment, I knew already that I have no choice but to accept the fact that I am already getting married.
Getting married to the man whom I don't even love.
