I'm coming for you, Eve.

Kraken, along with her friends Essence, Swellow, Scorpion, Ace and Tundra, were heading toward Sanctuary.

Kraken was a bit of a mess.

She never wanted to be royalty. Her mother always said she could have whatever she wanted, but having a true friend was apparently not included.

Kraken was close with Tsunami, Turtle, and to a lesser extent, his fiance Kinkajou. But they were all much older than her and not the type of friends Kraken wanted. Kraken could barely interact with her many cousins, her mother forbade it. The only time Kraken got to know her cousins were during parties (which Kraken was not a fan of) and in secret fight clubs, if you count her beating the hell out of her cousins as getting to know them.

Thank goodness mother never found out about those...

Kraken also sat through classes where these pretentious idiots taught her how to rule, blah blah blah. If she could rule, she would run away the moment it happened. She didn't want to rule the kingdom; Kraken hated the responsibility and the stress of having to lead thousands of dragons. This also meant Kraken couldn't do many of her favorite activities. But the one she managed to do was hunt. She became a master hunter and tracker.

But once she turned five, she had nagged the hell out of her grandmother Queen Coral and Tsunami to let her go to the Jade Mountain and after a year, she was allowed to go. This is where she met her first true friends.

Ace, the shy, small, and anxious Skywing who was blessed with seemingly endless intelligence,

Essence, the smart, kind, and caring Nightwing-Sandwing Hybrid. Dazzling patterns along her wings that made her shy nature feel wrong. Kraken very much thinks she is beautiful despite what that prick Frost may think. She is also a prodigy seer and likely the best that was living currently.

Scorpion, the huge and buff SandWing. He is on the outside quiet, scary, and cold, but Kraken knows that deep down he's a softy. He and Essence were also in a relationship, which had seemed to have developed quickly.

Haha, love birds...

Tundra the witty, outgoing and determined Icewing. He always wore a sky blue silk scarf and Kraken had no idea why. Maybe it was to cover up a scar, or a birthmark, or maybe he just really likes scarves. Kind of backwards, considering his tribe.

And finally Swellow. The best words to describe swellow are badass and... well, badass. She was Krakens best friend and a Silkwing who fled from the tyrant queen Mantis. Swellow was kind, protective, and always one to voice her opinion. She is also an adept swordsman wielding her signature blade Tyrant's Bane, which had a hilt shaped like a dragon's wings. She is likely the best duelist in Pyrrhia, having a fighting style where she uses her silk to tight up her enemies.

I hope she is willing to teach me, Kraken thought.

As night set in Scorpion spotted a cave and flew down to make camp with the rest following him. Ace started a fire and using the animals Kraken hunted Ace made his famous fried meat, which was foreign consept to Kraken. Apparently, Skywings cooked their meat.

Later, after she finished eating Kraken walked over to Swellow.

"Hey Kraken," Swellow said as she put away her diary.

"Hey Swellow," Kraken said, a bit nervously. "This may seem like of a bit of a request but... could you teach me to sword fight?"

Swellow seemed a tad expired but replied, "Absolutely."

Kraken was shocked. "Really?"

"Yeah. Actually, let's get started right now." Swellow pulled out her old sword and handed it to Kraken.

"Alright, the first step is to have a good stance." Awkwardly, Kraken balanced on her hind legs.

"This doesn't feel right," she muttered.

"Don't worry, you get used to it." Swellow said "Also, try using your tail, like a cat. It helps."

Putting her tail more to the ground helped as Kraken started to swing the sword around.

"I'm doing it!" Kraken said excitedly as she swung the blade around pretending to duel another dragon.

"Excellent." Swellow said, amusement in her voice. "Then let's start off with the basics." The Silkwing unsheathed her own sword, Tyrant's Bane.

For the next couple of hours, Swellow taught Kraken and they duelled. To her surprise, Kraken managed to parry some of the more experienced's attacks.

But soon the sun had fully set and Kraken and Swellow drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, the group took off and later that afternoon they reached Sanctuary.
