Ages: Kuroko, 5, Akashi twins, 4

"Nii-san!" Senjūrō said, looking up at his older brother, Kuroko.
"Nii-san!" Seijurō called out. Kuroko sighed, adjusting his pants.
"Hai, hai," Kuroko mumbled, strapping on his younger siblings' helmets. Midorima stood behind the twins, his lucky item in the basket of his bike.
The Akashi twins had wanted to learn how to ride a bike (Senjūrō mumbling something about being absolute). Midorima was 'accompanying' the twins ("I'm not a tsundere!" he had insisted).
The three mounted their bikes, one foot on the ground, never lifting from the grass. Kuroko sighed, though there was a slight smile on his face. Kuroko waited for the Akashi twins to finish playing rock, paper, scissors. Seijūrō ended up winning.
Seijūrō struggled as he tried to push off of his leg. He managed to get up, Kuroko holding him still for balance. Seijūrō planted his feet on the pedals, looking up at Kuroko. He nodded, Kuroko giving him a light push. Kuroko ran after him, ready to catch him if he fell. Seijūrō fought for balance as he approached the slope. The momentum made it slightly easier to go straight. Soon enough, he balanced. Kuroko noticed Seijūrō's slight panic when he realised he was going too fast. He hit the the brakes harshly, Kuroko managing to catch his sibling as the bike leaned sideways. He sighed in relief, pushing the heavy bike off of himself. "Nii-san! You're hurt!" Akashi said, gesturing to the small graze on Kuroko's elbow.
"I'm fine, Seijūrō. I'm just glad you're safe. Go back up," Kuroko comforted. Seijūrō looked sceptical, but nodded, picking up his bike and pushing it up the hill.
Kuroko made his way to the younger Akashi twin. "...Is Seiji ok?" Senjūrō asked Kuroko in a small voice. Kuroko smiled. Senjūrō was always a tsundere when it came to Kuroko and Seijūrō. They all knew better than to tease him, though.
"Hai. Now, it's your turn. It took me a few tries to get it. I'm sure you remember." Senjūrō grimaced at the memory.
Flashback
Kuroko mounted his bike, no one behind him or at the bottom of the hill to support him. He adjusted his helmet and took off, pushing on the pedals before stopping, letting the hill do its work. His eyes widened when he began zigzagging harshly. He fell over, the bike landing on top of him. Kuroko got back up, bleeding from his knee as he went back up the hill, determined.
Senjūrō watched him from the window, not liking the sight of blood on his nii-san. When Kuroko finally perfected it, he came home with messily done bandages on his knees and elbows. Senjūrō had immediately pushed him into the bathroom to redo his bandages.
Kuroko noticed Senjūrō's expression. "The point is, I'm fine, you'll be fine. Unlike nii-san, someone is here to catch you. There's someone who has experienced right behind you." Senjūrō sighed, not convinced. Kuroko sighed, taking out the big guns. "You're absolute, are you not?" That did the trick. Senjūrō struggled slightly as he tried to mount his bike. Kuroko steadied him as he managed to put his feet on the pedals.
Senjūrō gave a nod. Kuroko lightly pushed him, the younger Akashi twin going forwards. Senjūrō saw from the corner of his eye Kuroko following him. He sighed in relief, focusing on trying to straighten the handles. He managed to get it down, his breath hitching once he realised he was nearing the start of the slope. He tried to relax as he went down the slope, feet stopping the pedals from moving. Senjūrō stiffened at the end as his bike leaned towards one side. He felt a familiar pair of arms around him as they rolled in the grass. Senjūrō got off his older brother, shaking him slightly.
"Nii-san? Daijōbudesuka?" Senjūrō asked, a hint of concern in his voice. Kuroko wasn't the strongest out there, being only a kid. However, when it came to his siblings, he seemed to forget all pain to make sure they came out safe.
"Daijōbudesu," Kuroko replied, getting rid of the dirt on his t-shirt. He helped pick back up Senjūrō's bike and made his way over to Midorima to help him. Midorima, being the tsundere he was, refused help from Kuroko (Kuroko ended up helping him anyway).
The twins soon got the hang of riding a bike. They were now able to ride on smooth surfaces with ease. Kuroko smiled fondly as the twins raced each other down the slope, redirecting his attention to Midorima. If Midorima had seen Kuroko smile, he hadn't said anything. A rush of pride pulsed through him as Seijūrō and Senjūrō bickered on who had won the race.
After a few minutes, Midorima joined the two, the three racing for the entire afternoon. Kuroko sat on the ground, exhausted from running bike after bike. The two Akashis stared at each other, having a telepathic conversation with each other. Kuroko didn't register the twins running off, closing his eyes slightly, back against the slope. He felt plastic poking at his lip. He opened his mouth, accepting the straw. Kuroko opened his eyes, Seijūrō and Senjūrō stare at him in concern.
"Arigatō," Kuroko said in his usual polite tone, taking the drink from Senjūrō's hand. "Let's go back inside. Please, put your bikes away." The two nodded, turning towards Midorima and parroting his order. The three put their bikes back into the shed, Kuroko placing the training wheels on top of a shelf. He walked with his siblings and Midorima back home.
"Kurokocchi/Tetsu/Tetsu-kun/Kuro-chin!" The four yelled at their friend's brother. Kuroko turned towards Kise, Aomine, Momoi and Murasakibara.
"Hai?" Kuroko asked, frowning at the new pile of papers on his desk.
"Can you teach us how to ride a bike too?!" Aomine asked. Kuroko pretended to think.
"Not today, but yes," Kuroko answered. Aomine and Kise shared a high-five as Momoi squealed in excitement.
"Kuro-chin, what's with all the papers?" Kuroko stared at the papers. This was the first time the 4 of them had come into his room. Only the twins had ever been inside their nii-san's room. The others had ever passed it, or so what they could from the window that overlooked the backyard.
"Just work," Kuroko replied.
"Can we help?" the child giant asked again. Kuroko sighed.
"I don't think you'd like it, Murasakibara-kun. It's rather boring, and you hate boring things," Kuroko answered.
"Then why are you doing it, Kurokocchi?" Kise asked, piping in.
"Because Otō-san makes me," he answered. "But don't worry about me, I think Seijūrō and Senjūrō are waiting to tell you all a story." The four's eyes lit up, running out of his room and heading towards the twins' room.
Kuroko stared at his paperwork and the door to his study. He stood up, opening the door and closing it behind him. He followed the four blurs towards the twins' room. Seijūrō, Senjūrō and Midorima were telling their story on how they learned how to ride a bike, the other four bracing themselves when Seijūrō retold him falling off. Kuroko smiled slightly as Seijūrō exaggerated the story.
One day, Kuroko would realise that the exaggeration was actually how the Akashi twins viewed their brother.
Please do not question how these 4-year-olds can talk so well, ok? I'll try to make it make sense in later chapters.
