"sapnap, you've been kinda MIA recently. what's up?" Dream asks him over the discord call.
"What do you mean? It's not like I don't have other friends." Sapnap responds, turning his head to see Corey on the bed laying on his stomach with his laptop open in front of him.
"Ok, I know that. You just haven't been as active on Discord and stuff. I miss you." Dream tells him.
Sapnap pouts a little. He feels bad for not talking to his friends, he's just been a little preoccupied as of late.
"I know, I'm sorry. I- I've just had stuff going on. I guess." Sapnap mumbles.
"Hm, like what?"
"Uh, pft, it's a long story but-"
"But you're one of my best friends so I have time." Dream says.
Nick bites his lip nervously, not sure if now is the right time to tell him. He looks back at Corey who meets his gaze.
"What?" Corey mouths. Sap nudges his head towards the door. Corey rolls his eyes but gets up anyways, taking his laptop with him.
"Wait," he muted himself on discord and pulls Corey's hand. "Hug."
Corey laughs and wraps his arms around Sapnap, the older's face meeting Corey's torso.
"I'm gonna tell Clay." he says into Corey's stomach.
"Oh. Okay." Corey squeezes him more before letting go. He gives him one last smile before walking out the door.
"Nick?" Dream calls. Nick unmutes.
"Yeah, sorry. So I'm just gonna come out and say it...basically...I'm dating someone. But it's a little complicated."
Sapnap scrunches his eyebrows together. This feels awkward.
"Mhm. Why is it complicated?" Dream asks, slowly trying to get Sapnap to say what he is obviously going around.
"Uhh because....we're close friends? and just recently started actually dating. Like very very recently." Sapnap starts playing with his fingers, building up the courage to tell him.
"Well, have you talked to her about it? Like, why it's so complicated?"
Sapnap opens his mouth to speak a couple times. "So- the thing- it's not like...they're...i'm...I have a boyfriend." He sighs after stuttering out his confession.
A silence settles over the two.
"Oh. That's, wow." Dream says, clearly surprised.
"Yeah," Sapnap uneasily says.
"Are you...?" Dream starts.
"I don't know. We both don't know. Wait- actually that's not true. Corey says-"
"Corey?" Dream says, surprised at who it is.
"Yeah," Sapnap draws out, "We've been keeping it a secret for, like, a few months now. But a couple days ago we 'made it official' I guess."
"Ok, no. Dude, that's really great. I'm proud of you. I'm happy for you! Don't worry too much about labeling yourself if you're not comfortable, alright?"
"Mhm," Sapnap is biting his cheek now, still nervous about this whole conversation.
Dream chuckles lightly, "A few months? That's like borderline fiancé's at this point."
