Chapter 5

Senna and Zafrina, the Denali, a few Cullens and a few members of the Mystic Falls gang were all standing in the backyard of the Cullen House.

Zafrina, who has power over the mind, was making it look like everyone was standing in a rain forest.

"If you weren't holding my hand right now, I could swear this was real." Edward said as he looked around.

"Look a monkey!" Lizzie squealed as she pointed to a monkey, from her spot on Stefan's shoulders.

"I don't see anything." Bella said in exasperation, causing everyone to look at her.

"Edward, you didn't tell me your wife is a shield." Eleazar said, as he walked up to them.

"What's a shield?" Bella asks, confusion lacing her voice.

"The ones I've met are so different." Edward said.

"It's a defensive talent." Eleazar answered.

"It's who I couldn't read your mind, even before. It's why Aro couldn't." Edward explained to her.

"You have a very powerful gift, love." Klaus told her from his spot near the Denalis.

Suddenly Kate grabbed Bella's hand and started to use her power to try to shock her. "Oh, yeah, she's a shield alright, that should've put her on her ass." Kate said with a smirk.

"Or your voltage has been exaggerated." Garrett said, drawing the attention to him.

"Maybe it only works on the weak." Kate said with a smirk as she held her hand up towards him, wiggling her fingers tauntingly.

"Garrett, I wouldn't." Carlisle warned, with a soft chuckle.

Garrett slowly reached towards her hand, and touched it, before falling to his knees in pain, while everyone watched amused.

"You are an amazing woman." Garrett said, as he looked up at Kate with a smirk.

Small authors note: a few things I forgot to add in the info. Stefan Salvatore is going to be spelled with an f and the Romanian is going to be spelled Stephan with a ph, just so we can tell the difference when they're talking. Also the Mikealsons are going be 2000 years old instead of 1000.

In the forest near by, Jacob was helping some of the new shifters learn to control their phasing. Suddenly everyone heard something, someone running towards the Cullen House.

"Whoever's coming wasn't invited." Jacob said, before phasing and beginning to chase after the person, with the younger wolves quickly following him.

The wolves chase the vampires to a wall of rocks, and the two vampires just sit on one of the rocks and tease the wolves.

A few seconds later, the Denalis along with Carlisle, Edward, and Bella. 

"Vladimir, Stephan, you're a long way from home." Carlisle said.

"What are they doing here?" Kate mumbled under her breath.

"We heard the Volturi we're moving against you.  But that you would not stand alone." Vladimir told them.

"We didn't do what we were accused of." Carlisle said quickly.

"We do not care what you did Carlisle." Vladimir said with a slight smirk.

"We have waited a millennium for the Italian scum to be challenged." Stephan said with a smirk.

"It is not our plan to fight the Volturi." Carlisle told them.
