A/n : Just a little warning this chap is angsty! And might not make much sense but we just needed to get this little Drabble out there.

"This is twisted." Ro said.
While the doctor sat on the floor, she stood stiffly by his side. His expression was one of false indifference.
"I beg your pardon?"
Cay, who was also there, asked. He couldn't take in whatever nonsense Ro was saying.
She snorted. "Take a look around you. I don't believe I need to explain what I said."
Around them lay the remnants of a building. It had blown up and all that was left was ashes and small flames.
Things usually ended peacefully with the doctor around. But this time...
He'd arrived far too late.
"There was nothing we could do. Things were already going downhill." Ro scoffed at her brother's response.
What he said was true. The talking of peace was going nowhere and it resulted in violence. Always back to violence. They tried to stop them, but what good were two teenagers against two races that have decided against one another?
Sure they weren't ordinary teens but they lacked experience. It all went by so quickly that by the time the Doctor had arrived, there was no one left alive besides them. She saw the frantic and horrified look on his face when the TARDIS door opened. But then he saw them, alive.
She hated the moment a look of relief bloomed on his face even with the devastation around them. She half expected him to be angry or even slightly disappointed at them for being alive while others around them weren't. Instead, he looked at them with concern and care. Cayden had willingly let himself be embraced and hovered over, while she just stood her ground gritting her teeth until the Doctor settled beside her. He wasn't even looking at her.
Yell! Say something!
Cay flinched as he probably heard her thoughts. She met his gaze.
The doctor tiredly lifted his head to see the siblings' eyes locked, both unwilling to back down. One look at Ro told him that she was trying hard to keep her anger in. She wasn't successful as her eyes and sharp words showed clearly what she felt. And how she refused to approach him confirmed that part of her hate was directed at him. He himself believed that he deserved it. But he also knew that after all the rage directed at him went away it'll all come down to hating herself. And he sure wasn't going to let Ro get to that point.
It was him that was late not her. Rising to his feet, he attempted to solve the situation.
Though it seemed he was found out, Ro turned to him and raised a hand.
"Don't! Just.. don't. Don't try to make things better when they clearly aren't. This was our fault!" The doctor felt his hearts crack the moment her rage-filled eyes found his eyes. "It's your fault! Why couldn't you have come here sooner?? If you were going to be late then you shouldn't have come here at all! "
It was just the rage that was pent up. She didn't mean that.
But it still hurt.
Just as he predicted, after her outburst he could see her face twist in guilt as she started to realize what she had said and to whom she said it.
"Rohana!" Cay scolded, wide eyes switching between his sister and the Doctor.
Seconds passed. Then seconds turned to minutes. Silence engulfed them throughout. Nobody dared to say anything.
"I'm- I'm sorry.." Ro was the first to finally give in. She realized she went too far. But, she refused to apologize more since she believed she was half right. Or maybe her childish anger hasn't completely gone away.
She saw that the pain didn't disappear from the doctor's eyes. How could it? after what she's said.
Cay seemed to think the same as his gaze refused to meet hers.
Feeling like the absolute brat that she was, she swallowed as she tried to take her words back. "I didn't mean-"
"You're right. It's my fault and mine alone." The older man admitted. It was better if he took the blame if it meant giving her peace of mind. He already had a lot on his shoulders. A couple more wouldn't make any difference.
Turning towards the TARDIS, he trusted them to follow after him. Whatever that needed to be said out loud could be said later when they were all safe and as far away from here as possible.
He was too exhausted to deal with everything at the moment. It'll have to wait till later.
Everything will be fine later.
