His father’s office was well lit. The curtains of the windows were drawn back, letting the early noon light seep through. The light hit the glass cut chandeliers, reflecting them on the cream-colored carpet. A huge mahogany desk sat in the middle of the room. The wall to his right were ceiling-to-floor windows, Jungkook could see the entirety of the gardens of the Jeon mansion. The walls behind the desk and to his left were covered in books, the titles ranging from economic and financial books to automobiles to Greek and Aztec mythology. There were a couple of paintings hanging here and there of famous artists, but none of his family. Kind of expected, as his father didn’t want to show any weakness. The ceiling was covered in the map of the South Korea, drawn by some of the Jaguars’ own cartographers. Their territory was very ostentatiously highlighted, it was almost obnoxious how his father wanted to show off the large territory that he ruled off. Jungkook always used to scoffed whenever he saw that.
But not now.

He didn’t know where to focus first.
Whether on the amount of people in the office, far more than he had ever seen in the office. All of his family members; his mother, his older brother, Jeon Junghyun and his wife, Xi Jiaqi (from the Chinese mafia family); his older sister, Jeon Yeobin and her boyfriend, Song Joongki, even his younger sister, Jeon Wonyoung was present. Other close members of the inner circle were also present; the consigliere, the capos and other associates and soldiers. The families of his Horsemen were present. Even the Kim family of Jeon & Kim enterprises were also present.
Or on the rest of Horsemen; Chaeyoung, Lisa, Jaehyun, Bambam, Mingyu, Mina and Miyeon, standing in the middle, their heads bowed in respect towards their boss.

Or his father sitting on the leather chair behind the desk, looking unequivocally vexed.

Oh, fuck.

He and his friends made their way to the rest of his members and bowed respectfully towards their superior.

“Good afternoon, sir.” They all said in a unison. They kept their heads bent, awaiting further instructions.

“Stand up straight.” All eleven Horsemen immediately stood up straight. Their eyes remained on the floor.

“I hope you all realize why you have gathered here?” his father asked, in a soft, cool tone.

“Yes, sir.” Answered in a unison.

“You are perfectly aware of your actions?”

 “Yes, sir.”

“So then do you realize,” the boss’ voice started to shake due to uncontrolled anger, “THE CONSEQUENCES THEY HAVE MADE?” Jungkook’s father roared as he slammed his fist against the desk. Everybody in the room flinched. The head of the Jaguars, Jeon Bongjoon, was known for his legendary fury. His wrath burned like the fire in the fiery pits of hell.

“Do you even know what a mess you have created? How reckless can you be?” his father continued to yell. “You think this is a joke?! Do you have anything to say for yourself, boy?!”

Jungkook kept his eyes on the ground.

 “LOOK AT ME, BOY!”

He raised his head to lock eyes with his father. The unfathomable rage in his eyes almost made him cower like he used to when he was 10. But he couldn’t cower now. He was 25 years old soldier of the Jaguars. He had robbed the highest security banks; planned far greater scale thefts; car chases with the police and the intelligence; jailed a handful of times; killed people; fought stronger enemies; and yet his father rattled him to the core. He couldn’t possibly be still afraid of his father.

“I take full responsibility of the unfortunate events that occurred in Namwon and what happened with Kim Yeonjun. Whatever punishment you wish to inflict upon us, you can give it to me. Let the others go.”
His friends’ heads snapped towards him. Eyes wide with disbelief.

“No, Jungkook, you can’t.”

“Yah! Are you insane?!”

“We were all at fault. You can’t take full fall – “

“SILENCE!”

Bongjoon’s voice reverberated in the office room.

“I don’t want to hear it. You all are going to take the fall.” His voice now turned calm, the anger vanishing. He sounded disappointed now. “I just can’t believe your actions.”

“I was going to hand you over the responsibilities of the Jaguars here in Seoul. Your Hyung and your Noona were leaving the country for taking over the family business outside. Now how can I do that? How can I let them go and leave the things in your hands? How fucking irresponsible can you be?!”

Jungkook clenched his jaw. His fist clenched painfully. His nails and rings dug into his skin to the point they started to bleed.

“Do you even know the Perseus wants you dead?”

The silence that followed was deafening.

Jungkook’s mother and sisters sucked in breath.

“I understand.” He asked for himself only as he couldn’t let his friends die too.

“Not just you.” His father continued. Jungkook’s eyes snapped to Bongjoon's.

“They can’t.” He whispered. “I should be the one punished. It was my plan.”

“No, Jungkook.” He heard Mina say.

“It wasn’t just you. It was all of us.” She turned to Bongjoon. “If you are going to have Jungkook killed, you have to kill us too.”

“Myouni Mina.” Her father from the other side of the room spoke up. “Shut your mouth.”

She ignored him.

She continued to stare at the Jaguar’s boss. “Do what you have to do, sir.”

“Mina.” Whispers of her name came out of his friends mouth.

Bongjoon gazed down at Mina for a moment. Jungkook felt a rush of pride in him, hearing his friend’s words. She had always been that way. She didn’t speak much. But when she did, her words carried depth.

His father’s cold, calculating eyes softened a fraction. “don’t worry child. I'm not going to have anybody killed.”

Everybody’s eyes went to their superior.

“What do you mean?” Yugyeom’s father asked, “have they taken their direction back?”

“No,” he said after minutes of excruciating silence, “I struck a deal with the Perseus family. Thankfully, they were negotiable and they -”

“Well?” Yeobin demanded loudly, “what did they agree upon?”

The boss regarded his daughter for a second, with reproach for interrupting him.

“They agreed that if Jungkook and his team can do this one thing for them, they might consider sparing him.”

“What thing?” Jungkook’s mother asked softly but firmly.

His father’s eyes gleamed.

Jungkook wasn’t sure whether it meant anger or excitement.

“A heist in the Eunoia Gallery of Art in Milan for 4.5 billion dollars.”

“In Eunoia?!” Joongki sounded shocked. “That’s nearly impossible. That place is extremely well protected. Not just the government and the museum security. The area where the museum is comes under the jurisdiction of the Italian mafia. There is no way you can conduct a heist without them knowing.” He explained.

Bongjoon looked grim. “We know. And the Perseus too. That’s why they have been stalling this heist for months. Now, they don’t have to do anything. Cause they asked Jungkook and his team to do it for them in exchange of his life. They know it is our speciality.”

He turned to the Horsemen, “You have two months. If the items are not delivered to them by that time, your lives are forfeit.”
