Zim didn't know what pissed off (Y/N) so much that he decided to charge up the Quantum Deconstructer. But if he had to guess, it was propably because of the Dib-beast. Tak propably overheard the fighting between Zim and Dib and then decided to give (Y/N) an update of the situation.
Bad idea.
Some people would see (Y/N)'s reaction as 'Overkill', since he would annihilate the entire outskirts of this human hive just to kill ONE specific human.
But from (Y/N)'s POV, this was the only right response for this situation.
Now please... don't think ill of him because of this. If it comes to Zim, (Y/N) becomes rather overprotective. And Zim knows this.
Zim knows why his 'big brother' does this while he's still running to his Voot cruiser.
You see... (Y/N) saw Zim as his brother since the very first day they met. Zim was the only other Irken who shares his lust for carnage. They always got eachothers backs. They fought together in many battles. They would achive victorys together for the Irken Empire.
Zim was and still is the only family (Y/N) ever had.
Hell, even Tak knew this. That's one of the reasons why she behaves whenever she and Zim are in a room together.
Zim snapped back to reality the moment he and Millie reached his Voot cruiser.

Zim, still in his disguise opens the cockpit, he reaches out for Millie,
Z: "Quick, get in!"
Millie, who has still a lot of questions, took his hand and sits down beside him. The cockpit closes and the Voot cruiser took off. The board computer spoke up the second they reached the Atmosphere,
Warning! Quantum Deconstructer is now firing!
A green flash of light could be seen from the earth's Atmosphere.
Zim took a deep breath, and his communicator turned on, it was (Y/N),
(Y/N): "Targets neutralised. Man, i hope i got that little cockroach. Anyway... i'm making my way back to the Mothership, see ya there."
Again Zim took a deep breath, but then...
MI: "Holy shit, Mox! What was that? What is happening?! Are you involved in this?!"
Zim looks at her.
She deserves to know the truth.
And he knows that he just ruined this reunion between them.
He knows that she will hate him. He lied to her. Made up a story just so he could steal a page from their teleport-book at their workplace.
