It was about lunch time. I walked over to my table, where I sat with Rob and Alex, and sometimes Joey based on if the popular crowd would talk to him that day or not. I was a bit shocked to see Jacob there with a bag lunch went I walked over there with the slice of pizza I had got. Of course, Jack and Alex were already sitting there, smiling as Joey talked. I walked over, and everyone said hello. Jacob offered the chair next to him, to which I sat in without hesitation.
“Joey was just telling us how Jacob is an exchange student!” Alex said with a smile. Jacob chuckled. “Yeah, I am. Came for a year here for college creds. Came right out of Minnesota.” Ah, so he was from the States. “Interesting.” I commented as I drank a bit of the peach smoothie/juice stuff I got with my lunch. He explained he had a mum and a dad back at home, as well as a little sister and an older brother. I felt that I was clinging to every word without meaning to as I ate.
Jacob smiled at me after a moment. “What about you, Cas? (Joey just have told him the nickname. I’d yell at him later.) What’s your life like?” I looked at him before chuckling. “Life? What is a life, and can I buy one at Starbucks?” I asked him before actually saying, “I have a mum, dad, and dog that counts as a little brother.” I watched as he laughed at my little joke, before he nodded. “Seems legit.” He commented. I noticed what he was eating; A home-packed salad and some water. He made me feel like a pig in comparison, which felt pretty weird. I shrugged it off after a moment. The bell was going to ring soon, so I got up to take care of my tray,

I walked into my flat after school, like normal. For once, Mum and Dad were off work, so I walked in to the smell of spaghetti cooking. I smiled to myself and hung up my jacket, getting a hug from my mum as soon as I walked in. “How was school?” She asked with a smile. “Good!” Was my reply as I sat in my usual spot at the table. Dad plated the spaghetti and we all sat down and ate.
“So, new school year treating you well?” I heard my dad ask as I had a mouthful of noodles in my mouth. I swallowed and nodded. “Yeah. We have an exchange student for the year.” I said with a smile. “You seem quite happy about that.” Mum said with a soft smirk. “Well, he’s pretty nice. His name is Jacob.” I said, spilling everything he told me about him to my parents. Dad chuckled a bit. “I’m glad you have a new friend.” He said. I finished my supper soon enough, scarfing down a piece of garlic bread before excusing myself to do my homework. I went to my room and sat at my desk.
I smiled when I saw Brutus, my German Shepherd, was there waiting for me. “Hey boy!” I said as he jumped off the bed. When on his hind legs, even though he was only a little over a year old, he was able to put his front legs on my shoulders. And that is exactly what he did as he licked my face to oblivion. I laughed, as it tickled a bit. “Down, boy!” I said after a minute, sitting at my desk. I checked my bag and saw that I had nothing to do but read a book for Literature Circles in English. I grabbed my book (Jackaby by William Ritter. It’s like Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes combined!) and flopped onto my bed. Brutus took the liberty of climbing into and laying across my lap. I smiled and scratched behind his ear before using him as a stand for my book as I started to read. I must have read for quite some time, as I fell asleep holding the book.

Ah, it was a Thranduil dream tonight! I love Thranduil dreams. Wait, this wasn’t the Elvish palace. . . . I was riding the giant elk/moose thing that he used as a mount. There was a few carts behind me that I could hear along the dirt and cobble road. I didn’t really feel like looking at what they were filled with. Probably resources or something. I walked along the path until I saw the smoke. It was coming from Lake Town. Why were we going to Lake Town?
Oh, wait. I remember now.
It was after Smaug attacked and died. We were going towards the fishing village to bring them food and such. I smiled a bit, knowing that I would do good. Usually it was killing orcs or having an argument with Thorin. When we walked into the village, the first thing I saw was Bard. The bargeman came up, all sorts of happy to see me and the elves had arrived.
“We are forever in your dept.” He went on to say as the elves helped to hand food out to the weak and weary humans of the village. I hopped off my mount as I saw a few elves walk off to set up the tents. As mine was finally set up, I walked in and smiled.
He must’ve taken the smile for something else, as he grabbed me by the arm and pulled me close. I felt arms go around my waist and blushed. He was a lot shorter than me, and he was doing such things to me. I watched him smile soft. “Thank you.” He whispered with a smile. I nodded a bit, feeling him twirl the long, white elvish hair I donned. I looked at him with a shocked expression before he leaned in. I barely felt our lips touch. . . .

My eyes flew open. This time it was about six, but I wasn’t that bothered. My dog had moved from my lap to his little bed in the corner of my room, so I got up and brushed off the dog hair before going to get changed. The dream felt a bit longer, but it felt like I had gotten closer to a kiss. What was going on with me?
Whatever it was, it was time to get ready for school. I was happy it was such a short week. Only three days. . .
